Chelsea Launch 'The Chelsea Collection' Clothing Range

Turning the clock back to the 80s, Chelsea serve up a slice of nostalgia with ‘The Chelsea Collection’, a clothing range inspired by the first ever sportswear collection launched by the club.

Back in the 1980s, when Terrace Fashion was at its height, Chelsea pounced on the opportunity to not only bring its kit design in house, but to accompany it with a full clothing range suited for the ‘football casual’ look of the time. Now, with retro swing in full revival, the club bring back the blue and jade colouring that was so evocative of that era for a second showing of that collection.

Originally released in 1986, the collection is rereleased in 2023, with the jade of the change kit being one of the shades that inspired the 23/24 third shirt. Completing the new retro range are three styles of t-shirt with contrasting armbands, stripes and raglan sleeves marking them out from each other; a blue sweatshirt and drill top; a bobble hat and a three-colour track jacket – all very much in the theme of that mid-80s vintage.
