Kicking off celebrations for what is the tenth anniversary of the label, adidas Spezial has revealed its pre-spring ’24 collection, which goes about telling the timeless story of adidas’ design DNA, reinvented.
2024 marks 10 years since Spezial's inception, and as you can imagine, adidas isn’t about to let that milestone pass without some recognition. It starts with a change in wardrobe as we shift from the colder, darker winter months into the promise of spring; The Three Stripes and SPZL founder Gary Aspden chart a course through the label’s past, present, and future with their latest collection telling the timeless story of adidas’ design DNA, reinvented.
As always, the collection is made up of a combination of footwear, apparel and accessories, all seamlessly complementing one another. On the footwear front, there’s seven unique silhouettes: The Gazelle SPZL, which returns in two iterations (one all black and one in a chalk white denim upper), the 80s runner-inspired Whitworth SPZL, the Handball Pro SPZL, the Moston Super SPZL, the cult favourite Wensley SPZL and finally the slip-on adilette SPZL.
Turning from footwear to apparel and accessories, and the collection, as always, plays host to a number of expertly curated looks. Headlining the collection is the already iconic Todmorden Smock. First released in Spring Summer 2021 to an immediate sell out, this season the coveted style returns in two colourways: navy and white. A commemorative 10th anniversary Mod Trefoil tee then brings the Spezial spirit to life as a certified collectors item.
Two lightweight jackets – the Trentham and the Wingrove – constitute perfect spring layering items, while the matching Angelzarke track top and track pants are awash with signature Spezial details. The apparel offering is then rounded out by the Rossendale Short, a Polo shirt, and the Lytham tee.
The accessories offering comprises of the Brinscall bag, a Mod Trefoil cap, a two pack of socks, and a Mod Trefoil towel.
The adidas Spezial Pre-Spring '24 collection arrives in limited quantities on 4 April and is available through CONFIRMED and select retailers.
