adidas SPZL F.C. Presents Club-Specific Capsules For Aberdeen, Nottingham Forest & Leeds United

Following on from its initial unveiling last month, adidas SPZL F.C. returns with club-specific capsule collections for Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Aberdeen.

After the dust had settled on the celebrations surrounding a decade of existence earlier this, adidas SPZL were quick to move and show off a flavour of what the next 10 years might look like with the reveal of SPZL F.C. – a new concept within premium Three Stripes sub-label that celebrates the culture of the beautiful game by bridging the worlds of lifestyle and performance, adidas Originals and adidas Football. Whilst the foundations of SPZL F.C. are built on neutrality, they now follow the initial drop up with club-specific capsules of footwear and apparel for Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Aberdeen, all nodding to each club’s sporting heritage in the context of modern designs.

Shot by renowned photographer Kevin Cummins alongside the team at &SON, the resulting visuals feature current players and club legends from Aberdeen (Leighton Clarkson & Neil Simpson) , Leeds United (Dan James & Eddie Gray) and Nottingham Forest (Ryan Yates & Viv Anderson) football clubs in their element, photographed at their respective home grounds.

LEEDS UNITED

Following in the footsteps of the Elland SPZL trainer from 2020 comes the Leeds SPZL F.C. trainer. This low-profile, three-stripe shoe arrives in a white and yellow colourway and is crafted with premium materials, consisting of a white leather upper atop a yellow sole. White flock appears on the heel tab and serrated three-stripe detailing, whilst finishing touches include an adidas-branded tongue and gold lettering across the shoe’s outer face.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

For Forest, their take SPZL’s signature Lotherton SPZL arrives in a green and white colourway, consisting of a green suede upper atop a dark brown sole. White flock appears on both the heel tab and serrated three-stripe detailing, whilst finishing touches include an adidas-branded tongue and gold lettering across the shoe’s outer face.

As with all three teams, the shoe is joined by a four-piece apparel set, with each piece arriving with a combination of SPZL F.C. and club-specific branding. First, a tracksuit is comprised of a sleek grey tracksuit top and matching tracksuit bottoms. The next item, a long-sleeve polo, launches with three-stripe adidas accents along either sleeve. Branding is discreet yet authentically SPZL, with club crests neighboured by the hallmark adidas SPZL box logo. Underneath the back of the collar, a subtle ‘Mod Trefoil’ completes the look. Another iteration of the much-loved SPZL ‘Mod Trefoil’ sweatshirt forms the fourth and final offering of apparel.

ABERDEEN

With a colour palette inspired by Sir Alex Ferguson’s iconic red, white and navy adidas jacket – worn to celebrate Aberdeen F.C.’s 1983 UEFA Cup Winners Cup victory – each of Aberdeen F.C.’s bespoke pieces nod to the club’s sporting heritage in the context of modern designs. At the centre of the collection is the Aberdeen SPZL F.C. trainer, the club’s own take on SPZL’s signature Lotherton SPZL silhouette. The low-profile trainers arrive in a red and navy colourway and are crafted with premium materials, consisting of a dark red suede upper atop a black sole. Navy flock appears on both the heel tab and serrated three-stripe detailing, whilst finishing touches include an adidas-branded tongue and gold lettering across the shoe’s outer face.

The SPZL F.C. club-specific collections launch exclusively at each club’s shop and online on 25 October 2024.
