Starcow Paris & Kappa Team Up For Collaborative Jersey

Combining Kappa's sporting DNA and Starcow's urban and creative aesthetic, the pair have come together for a collaborative jersey that celebrates the increasing breakdown of cultural borders.

Back 1996, Starcow opened the doors of its first store, in the 95 north of Paris. A pioneer of streetwear in France and the first brand to mix the worlds of skate and hip hop, the store developed quickly and the team decided to settle in the capital. Four years later, and the Starcow brand appeared in the Les Halles district, the nerve centre of Parisian hip hop and skate culture. It was from here that they went on to become a major player in Parisian streetwear, embodying the meeting place between fashion, music and skateboarding. And so, what better way to celebrate this crossover of cultures than by crossing over into another culture, that of football.

And so came this collaboration with Kappa. The shirt, designed entirely by the Starcow team, pays homage to the sporting heritage of Kappa's jerseys, while providing a modern and avant-garde touch, with special attention to detail. The black base provides the perfect canvas for the carefully thought-out typography that demands attention in the sponsor slot. The minimalist monochromatic design reflects the world of the streetwear scene that Starcow wanted to bring to this shirt, the perfect blend of sporty yet fashionable.

Signing off the look, the number 96 resides on the back of the shirt, again in stylised font, nodding to Starcow’s beginnings.

The Starcow Paris x Kappa jersey is available in a limited edition at Starcow and on Kappa.fr
