Art Of Football Partner With Gillette For Limited Release Jersey

Art Of Football and Gillette have come together to create a limited-edition jersey, honouring the nations unofficial anthem of the 2024 summer of football – the remake of Gillettes iconic anthem, ‘The Best A Man Can Get’ by Tom Grennan.

Worn by Tom Grennan, the design celebrates the iconic song's legacy as well as its recent revival in summer 2024, becoming the unexpected anthem of the Euros for England. ‘The Best A Man Can Get’ became a huge hit, with fans even calling out for it to replace the national anthem. I think we all remember singing it at top volume during the adverts before an England game. The jersey is inspired by 80’s nostalgia, the era of the tracks original release, and arrives in a classic ‘Gillette blue’ colour combination.

“Those who know me know how much I love football and how important it is to me, so I love the design Art of Football have created. This whole thing with Gillette, it really wouldn’t be anything without the fans who have supported me and championed me from day one – so this shirt is for them.” said Tom Grennan.

From an oversized fit to the vintage white collar, this shirt is reflective of the era of football the song originates from. Intentionally unmissable is ‘The Best A Man Can Get’ logo painted across the front of the shirt, mirroring the huge success and fame of the remake. The ‘Gillette-blue base’ is complemented by a stipple gradient repeat pattern, a nod to renowned kits from the 80’s as well as representing a razor shaving through stubble

The jersey is of course designed with core brand references within, including a custom crest, inspired by the 1989 logo, embroidered below the collar. A feature that’s not too common on a football shirt, is the razor blade printed onto the bottom of the shirt. I think that speaks for itself.

Luke Cuthbert, Managing Director for Art of Football, said: “Art of Football creates original designs that draw inspiration from the beating heart of football fan culture around the world. To celebrate Gillette and the remake of their iconic track, we wanted to create a football shirt that reflects the standing that ‘The Best a Man Can Get has in the game of football.”

“Since its launch in 1989, 'The Best a Man Can Get' has been a constant for Gillette. Tom created a brilliant new version of the track and to see it take off again with a new generation of fans, 30 years since the original launched, has been incredible. It's even more special watching the football community own it in such a unique way that only football fans can. In teaming up with ART OF FOOTBALL, it was crucial for us to create a jersey that genuinely connects with the communities of fans who propelled this song back into the spotlight. We're delighted to be able to donate all profits from this initiative to our longstanding charity partner, Football Beyond Borders, to support their vital work in inspiring the next generation of role models.” said Liam Sargeant, Gillette Senior Communications Manager for UK & Ireland.

All profits from each jersey sold will go to Football Beyond Borders, an education and social inclusion charity using the power of football to change the lives of young people. Founded in 2014, FBB has grown to support over 3000 young people across the country, providing a social and emotional learning curriculum and transformational opportunities beyond the classroom. The intensive support that they supply allow young people to finish school with the skills and grades needed to make a successful transition into adulthood. The money from these shirts will be going to an amazing cause, as to let FBB continue to work with brands and players such as Nike, Rodri and Lotte Wubben-Moy and help change lives.

The 'Best A Man Can Get' jersey is available from Friday, 17 January, at art-of-football.com
