Latin American brand Casalú have unveiled their first ever football jersey, reinterpreting classic football aesthetics to champion Latin American culture. Serving as a statement of ‘Orgullo Latinoaméricano’ (Proud of Latin American), this piece celebrates the brand’s culture and diversity challenges.
Casalú is a well-known drinks brand, crafting rum-based seltzers with a Latin twist. In previous years we have seen the Latin American brand dip a toe into the world of fashion, designing their own golf hat alongside a limited quarter-zip jumper. They now delve into the football-fashion market, designing their first ever football jersey as a statement piece celebrating Latin American football culture. The jersey fuses tradition with modernity – uniting the past, present and future of Latin America. Staying loyal to their roots, Casalú shot their new jersey piece in rustic locations, worn by locals of the streets.
“Casalú isn’t just a sparkling rum. We are the brand that bets on Latinos,” said Ricardo, Co-founder at CASALÚ. “We created a drink that celebrates our heritage and future. No matter where we go, Casalú makes us feel at home. This jersey is another way to amplify our culture and share it with the world.”
The jersey design details, from the typography to colours, honour Latin Americn aesthetics while embracing a global football culture. Arriving in a complementary pink and green striped design, the jersey adorns a bespoke Casalú crest featuring the brand’s name and founding year alongside a globe print of the America’s. Paired next to a graphic of an ‘I’ with wings where a jersey provider logo would usually be. At the heart of the design is a powerful message ‘Try Latinoamérica’ – inspired by the iconic Fly Emirates sponsor. The phrase acts as a call for action rather than an invitation, encouraging the world to experience their culture whilst empowering all Latinos to embrace their heritage.
A stunning jersey with a beautiful message. Casalú nail their first attempt in football fashion and we hope to see more from them in the future.
