Ready-to-wear fashion label, Nude Project, have teamed up with Ronaldinho for a collection inspired by the Brazilian icon. ‘Lil Kid, Big Dreams’ pulls inspiration from the magic of the beautiful game, paying tribute to the king of Joga Bonito while staying true to Nude Project’s signature aesthetic.
Ronaldinho had an incredible career, known as one of the best players to ever grace the game. Famous for his flair and skills, Brazil’s number 10 became the definition of Joga Bonito (the beautiful game). Inspired by this, the collection embodies the passion and creativity R10 showcased during his time on the pitch.
Nude Project have always been clear with their love for football-inspired clothing, releasing several lifestyle kits and even hosting a pop-up football tournament to launch a collection. This collaboration with Ronaldinho now puts them up there with some of the best football-fashion designers.
The full collection includes 30 pieces, including knit football jerseys, T-shirts, cut-off jorts, jackets and jumpers. All pieces within the collaboration capture the Carnival of Rio De Janerio, along with the joy and zest for life the Brazilian’s show both on and off the pitch. Of course, the brand’s signature brand elements and athletic aesthetic return once again, staying loyal to the culture of the label and their unique look.
Screen printed images of Ronaldinho at different stages of his life feature on some of the eye-catching pieces of the collection, reflecting his journey from a young dreamer to becoming one of football’s greatest icons. A standout piece, bringing a sense of nostalgia to the collection, features a washed green, ribbed jumper designed with a print of young ‘Dinho in a brazil jersey. Complemented with soft yellow/pink-ish hues to add a touch of Nude Project individuality – whilst fitting into the classic springtime colour scheme.
Another piece that catches the eye is a hunter green bomber jacket, adorned with an Andy Warhol-esque print featuring pixelated flower designs across the chest. Whilst the interior of the jacket fashions a blown-up image of a lit-up football pitch located in the ‘Favela’s’.
