Throwing some retro love the way of the women’s game, adidas and Olympique Lyon have revealed a new Originals Icon lifestyle collection.
Retro collections for the elite sides in the men’s game is nothing new, with Adidas ramping up their nostalgia game last year with collections for the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal, Man United, Juventus and Bayern. But now, in a refreshing twist, attention is turned to the women’s game with the reveal of a new Originals Icon lifestyle collection for Olympique Lyonnais Feminine, which arrives with typically retro-licious vibes all round.
The new four-piece adidas Icon Women's OL collection is made up of a tracksuit, jersey and then – arguably the pick of the bunch, setting the collection’s stance – is a vintage football shirt-inspired dress.
The collection is presented in a mix of brown and off white, with the former dominating all but the jersey, which inverts the colour scheme, using an off white base with brown accents on the crest and branding. A nod to the iconic football style of the 1980s, all pieces feature that vintage team crest alongside the thriving Trefoil logo, completing the throwback feel. As a further nice touch for the collection, all products are made with at least 70 percent recycled materials.
