adidas Launch Copa UltraBoost "Kakashi"

Taking influence from the world of Manga, adidas are set to release the COPA UltraBoost “Kakashi” as part of the upcoming Naruto collaboration. Boasting a classic suede upper with deep cut wavy lines that are synonymous with the COPA, it's a sneaker that combines two worlds, with it's anime roots wrapped around the football-inspired silhouette.

For those that aren’t familiar, Naruto is a hugely popular Manga series that was adapted into an anime series over a decade ago. It focuses on the eponymous young ninja as he attempts to seek recognition from his peers while also dreaming of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. Yeah, OK, so that’s a very brief summary of a series that has over 500 episodes and over 11 movies, but you get the gist.

The COPA UltraBoost “Kakashi” is themed after Kakashi Hatake, the teacher of Team 7 in the series. The football silhouette features a blue suede upper, reminiscent of the Jōnin uniforms that are so popular in the show, and it’s joined by grey hairy suede on the Three Stripes, tongue tag, and heel pull tab, inspired by the signature grey hair of Kakashi of the Sharingan. Kakashi’s Mangekyō Sharingan eye emblem then sits on the tongue tag, while Leaf Village motifs are featured on the heel. As a nice finishing touch, the Japanese characters reading “Hatake Kakashi” can be found printed along the Boost midsole near the heel.

Not much else is currently known about the Naruto x adidas collaboration, but while it’s borrowing football silhouettes and providing sneakers of this calibre, you can count us interested.
