Raheem Sterling Leads Clarks Originals x BAPE Collaboration

Clarks Original and A Bathing Ape have hooked up for an appealing collaborative capsule collection that sees fresh interpretations of the Wallabee and Desert boot silhouettes, and it’s being fronted by Raheem Sterling.

Raheem Sterling himself was born in Kingston, Jamaica, a country that played a massive part in the rise of Clarks Originals in Western culture throughout the 1960s and 70s, and that combined with the England man’s self-confessed love of the Wallabee silhouette places him in the ideal position to front the brand’s latest collaboration with BAPE.

Each silhouette within the collection sees classic styles combined with modern streetwear vibes, with each still being crafted using materials from the Charles F. Stead tannery – a key element from classic Clarks DNA. From the length of the stitching to the refined last a shoe is formed around, each offering is in-keeping with its roots. Featuring a co-branded leather lining, the Wallabees feature an extra-light outsole with a unique shark tooth tread and a signature BAPE camo textile on a suede vamp. The Desert Boot boasts laser-printed BAPE artwork – which is different on each foot in a pair – and is completed with the signature crepe outsole.

The BAPE x Clarks Originals capsule collection will be available to buy from the BAPE webstore and the Clarks Originals Berwick Street Store, London, from August 8 2020.
