Combining two of the most iconic football boots of all time and taking it from the pitch to the streets, adidas Originals launch the Predator Mundial trainer, which initially arrives in two distinct colourways.

2024 has been all about the Predator so far, with adidas bringing back the fold-over tongue and Accelerator Three Stripes to great effect for the Predator 24. That nostalgia hasn’t just been restricted to the pitch either, with the brand recently releasing the Predator Freestyle, a sneaker that fuses that iconic Predator Aesthetic with the Samba’s style. Now, they’re at it again, taking two of the most recognisable and impactful football boots of all time in the Predator and the Copa Mundial and amalgamating them to create the Predator Mundial trainer.

The adidas Originals Predator Mundial fuses elements of both boots into a modern silhouette that’s primed for the terraces. The signature Three Stripes down the sides give a nod to Predator's football roots, while the quilted leather vamp is a tribute to the timeless Copa Mundial, together providing a pitch-perfect style that’s blended with a streetwear aesthetic.

It’s available in two colourways: “Core Black/Cloud White/Crystal White”, which bizarrely fails to call out the obvious presence of red, which, along with the black and white, creates the most OG Predator look, and “Grey One/Silver Metallic/Gum”, which tones down the colour links to the Predator for an arguably more lifestyle-led look. The latter's Three Stripe branding features a reflective layering that makes them shimmer in the dark.

Unlike the Predator Freestyle trainer, here the Trefoil branding reigns supreme. It sits subtly on the tongue and on the heel, an obvious shout out to the fact that this is an Originals release. The accent colours of each shoe – red for the first and blue for the second – carry on to that rubber outsole in a wavy, reptilian-esque execution that again nods to the Predator heritage.
