Rihanna and PUMA have come back together for another FENTY x PUMA collaboration. The Avanti LS is a new, sleek redesign from the Avanti, featuring a striking new heel with short gum studs, highlighting the turf styles of the past. It arrives in a brand-new colourway – a royal blue upper with touches of gold and cream.
First unveiled in September, the FENTY X PUMA Avanti saw a fashionable sneaker, designed by Rihanna to show her love for football, eventually released in four different colourways. The new Avanti LS is light with a suede upper, drawing inspiration from the archive across a variety of PUMA styles including the Speedcat and Mostro. A new outsole design features a half and half concept with an emphasis on the heel area, creating two different traction vibes. The heel is signed off as a ‘Fenty sole’ with one of the gum studs being stamped with the letter F. Inspired by the iconic PUMA King football boot, it features the cream Formstrip seen on the classic leather boots, and a vintage football gum sole. An already familiar feature, the fold over tongue, returns for this newest drop, adorned with the Fenty logo in gold.
Although Rihanna's main source of inspiration was around football and classic boots, she takes it on with a fashion lens with a slim upper and a playful blue colourway. Whether it's dressed up or down, the Avanti LS is a shoe for every occasion, taking a football spin on an everyday shoe. Rihanna has already been spotted showing off the shoes at Giorgio Baldi and on the streets of New York. Is this the start of hopefully more colourways of the Avanti LS?
