Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has queried the regulations surrounding Andrey Arshavin's exclusion from the Champions League last-16 match against Roma.
The Russia forward is cup-tied having played for Zenit St Petersburg in earlier rounds of the competition. "The logic is not obvious - he played for a team that cannot play in the competition anymore," Wenger said ahead of Tuesday's first leg. Wenger is already without strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Eduardo because of injuries, along with midfielders Cesc Fabregas, Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott. Arsenal's lack of firepower was evident against Sunderland on Saturday as they recorded a third straight Premier league goalless draw. However, Wenger believes Roma will play attacking football in search of a positive result, rather than adopt negative tactics used by some teams at the Emirates. "Certainly in the Champions League teams have a more positive attitude than the teams who have come in the Premier League to the Emirates recently," he said.
