Football News - Mercurial Cup Glory - which side are you on? - 17/04/09

Eclipsing a big weekend of FA Cup action is the battle off and on the pitch between the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly football boots and the Nike Mercurial Vapor V football boots. The two Nike Mercurial football boots come toe-to-toe during the weekends FA Cup semi-finals, but the question is - which side are you on?

The Superfly is still causing a huge buzz and is set to be in high demand when re-released later on this year. There's plenty of technology and innovation in these football boots, not just in lightweight construction but aids for your acceleration and deceleration too. The weekend's FA Cup and Premier League fixtures are highly likely to see some more influence from this unique boot, much like the midweek Champions League games - as Cristiano Ronaldo's thunderous strike against Porto showed this boot can also pack a punch! The Superfly has already made a Wembley debut but players including Didier Drogba, Nicklas Bendtner and Andrei Arshavin are all training and playing in these boots - they won't be hard to miss!

The follow-up to one of the most successful speed football boots ever. Already available in two distinctive colourways, the Vapor V is looking to continue it's reign at the top of the boot pile. Featuring some elements of the Flywire that made the bigger brother Superfly so famous, the Vapor V shares a lace-cover and sole plate with it's predecessor but has some subtle tweaks to the heel counter, sockliner and toe area. Expect to see top pro's converting to this boot over the weekend and coming weeks, as well as in matches all over your country as Vapor V fever starts sweeping the globe! Already some of the FA Cup semi finalists are breaking in their Vapor V's, including Manchester United's Nani.

The chances are we'll see both of these boots in action at the FA Cup final, but which is your preferred choice? Share your opinion with the SoccerBible and the World and tell us what YOU think!
