Football Talk - Mourinho unhappy despite Inter title success - 18/05/09
Inter celebrated their fourth successive Scudetto with a comfortable 3-0 win over Siena at the San Siro stadium, with Esteban Cambiasso, Mario Balotelli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic grabbing the respective goals on the night.
Despite the result though, manager Jose Mourinho, was unhappy at the end of the match, for a number of reasons.
This does complete a successful weekend for us, as had we not won tonight, our celebrations wouldn't have been the same, Mourinho said. We approached this match in a serious manner, and we certainly were not joking. One of our strengths is our serious nature, however I must say that I was angry again tonight.
The Portuguese was particularly disappointed with two of his goal scorers: Balotelli and Ibrahimovic. Our goal has been to win the competition, and now we are aiming to do so by as much as we can. It isn't all about Ibrahimovic,
Mourinho added, in regards to the fact that his Swedish star wanted to be withdrawn from the field for almost the entire second half. Also, Balotelli must learn to become a better team player with Ibra.
The former Chelsea coach did have some words of praise for two of his players, in Javier Zanetti and Julio Cesar.
The player who has surprised me more than anyone this season has been Zanetti, as he is simply incredible. I am also very happy with the affection shown towards Julio Cesar, as he is a fantastic goalkeeper. He works very hard, and he loves the club, something that was shown through his tears after being replaced.
Inter are now ten points clear of their nearest rivals Milan, with just two matches remaining this season.
