The creative forward took to the Stadio Olimpico pitch wearing a brand new pair of adidas football boots, in a striking new cyan colourway designed to make those lightning feet stand out!
As play started Messi shocked the Manchester United defence by playing through the middle. Following a week of Patrice Evra talking up how he would mark Messi out of the game, it turned out that task would fall to...well was it the central midfielders or central defenders? Cause Messi was dropping off and mixing up his positioning, finding space to add a creative spark to Barcelona's play.
Inspired by the innovative new adidas F50i TUNiT football boots, Messi was playing in customised F30i football boots as he prefers the fixed sole-plate. Enjoying the performance of his new adidas football boots Messi was going on mazy runs as the boot upper and lace-cover complimented his close control, along with the clean striking area as a lethal Messi shot tested Van der Sar from distance.
Manchester United were finding it increasingly hard to pick up the evasive Messi, and on seventy minutes he broke free in the United area. The smallest player on the pitch, the 5 foot 7 inch Messi rose to head home a decisive second goal for Barcelona, clinching his first goal against English opposition and more importantly the Champions League trophy for Barcelona.
Such a great occasion for Lionel Messi, he ran off kissing his new adidas football boots, which he had to thank for ensuring his performance was at the highest level!
