Football News - Brazil win Confederations Cup - 29/06/09

   

           
      There was a strong showing from the new Nike Vapor Platinumcolourway in the Confederations Cup, as they contributed no less than five goals in the final two matches of the tournament.
     
Brazil produced a stunning second-half performance to come back from two goals down, to beat the USA 3-2 in the final and win the Confederations Cup. Clint Dempsey had given the United States a shock lead scoring in PlatinumNike Mercurial Superfly football boots, which was doubled fifteen minutes later by Landon Donovan, finishing an excellent counter-attacking move in Nike Mercurial Vapor IV football boots.

But Brazil's second half display was relentless, with all the contributors and scorers of Brazil's goals playing in new football boots. In the Third Place Play-off there was another great showing from the new Platinum Vapor colourway. As South Africa's Katlego Mphela scored two goals form his Nike Vapor V football boots, including a stunning long range free-kick in added time to send the game into extra-time. However, it was the new black/goldadidas adiPure II football boots that reigned supreme, as Xabi Alonso equalled Mphela's effort with his own free-kick in the 107th minute to break South African hearts!
