DAVID VILLA TO DECIDE? - After completing the world record signing of Kaka from AC Milan, Real Madrid have turned their attention to Chelsea target David Villa. - The Valencia striker will this week have to decide whether to join Chelsea or Real Madrid to help out Valencia's financial situation.



OWEN CONTRACT OFFER? - Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner has backed Martin O'Neill to beat both Everton and Roma to the signing of Michael Owen, although O'Neill has denied making any kind of approach for Owen. - Meanwhile, Villa are also prepared to battle it out with Liverpool for the signing of Sylvain Distin from Portsmouth.



WEST HAM HAVE FUNDS? - As a result of West Ham's takeover, Gianfranco Zola will have the funds to bid for Rennes right-back Rod Fanni, Middlesbrough's defender Matthew Bates, and has already registered a £15million bid for Inter Milan attacking midfielder Luis Jimenez. - However, some newspapers are reporting Zola will have to raise his own funds, and will therefore sell defender Matthew Upson.



PAV ON HIS WAY OUT? - Spurs are prepared to cut their losses on Roman Pavyluchenko, by selling the Russian forward to Roma for £9milllion. - Whilst Redknapp is up to his usual wheeling and dealing, by signing Ruud Van Nistelrooy from Real Madrid for £1.25million!
