ALONSO ATTRACTING ATTENTION?

- Chelsea and Manchester City have joined the hunt to sign Liverpool's Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso, because his proposed £35million move to Real Madrid is stalling. (Daily Mail)

- Rafa Benitez will move for Roma's Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani, if Alonso does complete his desired move to Real Madrid. (Daily Mirror)



 
 

SHEVCHENKO TO LEAVE?

- Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti expects Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko to leave the club before the start of the 2009-2010 campaign with Dynamo Kiev and Fenerbache interested. Shevchenko was on loan at AC Milan last season with Ancelotti who used him very sparingly. (The Guardian)

- South African midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi is hoping to earn a deal at Fulham as he has arrived for a trial spell, the 24-year-old plays in his homeland for Golden Arrows. (The Guardian)
