- Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has been told by Blackburn Rovers to treble his bid for defender Stephen Warnock to £12million. (Daily Mirror)

REDKNAPP FORCED INTO MARKET?


- Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp could be forced into the transfer market after centre-back Jonathan Woodgate was ruled out for at least two months following surgery on a groin problem. (Daily Mirror)

- And Redknapp has been told to up his offer for Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko from £12million to around £25million. (The Sun)



 
 

ZOLA TO SIGN STRIKERS?


- West Ham hope to complete the signings of Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni and Barcelona front man Eidur Gudjohnsen by the end of the transfer window. (The Guardian)

- Gianfranco Zola is interested in Napoli defender Leandro Rinaudo, and he is keen to bring the 6ft 4in centre-back in on loan if he loses Matthew Upson or James Collins. - Arsenal are on the trail of 6ft 4in Borussia Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotic, with chief executive Ivan Gazidis ready to make a £12million offer for the 20-year-old Serb who is also attracting interest from Everton. (Daily Mail)

- Fulham are adamant defender Brede Hangeland will only leave the club if Arsenal shatter the club's £12million transfer record, which was paid by Manchester United for Louis Saha. (The Guardian)
