Football News - Castrol Rankings Update - Ibrahimovic makes his mark! - 08/12/09

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a storming November 2009 to rise up the Castrol Rankings, and it is predicted the Barcelona striker will soon be competing at the top of the table if he continues his run of form!

Castrol analysis shows Ibrahimovic has climbed 30 places to 19th since the start of the season, and he could soon be challenging Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry. Messi recently became the first Argentine to win the Ballon D'Or and continues to press Barcelona team-mate Thierry Henry at the head of the Castrol Rankings.

The forward was the only player to complete more than 100 dribbles over the past 12 months and has contributed to 29 goals in 28 La Liga games in 2009 (20 goals, 9 assists) with 56% of those goals coming in the second half of the season suggesting he will increase the pressure on Henry in the new year. Henry remains top after making a goalscoring return from injury in Barcelona s 4-2 victory at Real Mallorca. The France forward has an outstanding conversion rate, scoring from 25% of shots compared to Messi s impressive return of 22%.

Castrol use objective analysis and highly advanced technology to measure every pass, every tackle and every single move of over 2,000 players and games from Europe s top 5 leagues over the last 12 months. And it is a system that has the full support of Cristiano Ronaldo who has featured in various promos for Castrol.
