World Cup Draw 2010 - Football News

The draw has been made for the 2010 World Cup finals, and there promises to be some great matches in the group stages, with Brazil taking on Portugal and England facing the United States!

The opening game of the 2010 World Cup sees Mexico take on South Africa in Johannesburg on the 11th June, whilst England will kick-off their campaign against the United States on Saturday 12th June.

After the draw David Beckham commented: "It's a very interesting group, you don't get easy games at the World Cup. As a country we're very honoured to be here and very honoured to play a part in such a historical time in South Africa."

But perhaps BBC pundit and ex-England striker Alan Shearer summed up better the feelings of England fans: "Fabio Capello will be sat in his seat in Cape Town, and inside he will be absolutely delighted with that draw. I can see England doing well in all of their group games. I don't think anyone can be anything other than delighted with that - if you'd offered that group to Fabio this morning, he would have bitten your hand off!"
