Cristiano Ronaldo switches to Nike Mercurial Superfly II

Cristiano Ronaldo switches to Nike Mercurial Superfly II

He's the global icon for the boots, so many fans (us included) were disappointed that "CR9" Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't amongst the players wearing the new Superfly II football boots at the weekend.

However, we didn't have to wait long as last night's match between Getafe and Real Madrid saw Ronaldo switch to the new soccer shoes - and bag an impressive double too. Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 13th minute, curling in a superb free-kick from close range before Argentine striker Higuain marked a century of games with a double inside three minutes to take his season's tally to 22.

Ronaldo - who wore the FG adaptive sole plate version of the Superfly II - then grabbed his second, and 17th of the season, on 37 minutes to make it 4-0 before former Real player Daniel Parejo pulled a goal back for the hosts in a goal-packed first period. Next up for free-scoring Real is the Madrid derby with Atletico, which has all the promise of a classic as both Ronaldo and Higuain average a goal a game so far this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the top players who Nike utilised when designing and crafting the Superfly II, and we're giving you the chance to experience this elite level football boot first hand.

The SoccerBible is offering one lucky winner the opportunity to be amongst the very first to get your hands on a pair of the new Superfly II football boots in our exclusive competition - check it out now!
