The MLS All Stars team take on the Premier League runners up in the showpiece tie, having already won three out of the four previous matches against Premier League sides since 2005. Last years' loss to Everton on penalty kicks marks the only defeat.

LA Galaxy coach and former US national team boss Bruce Arena leads the All Star team, which includes some big MLS names. USA World Cup star Landon Donovan, 2008 league MVP Guillermo Barros Schelotto, Brian Ching, Edson Buddle, Bobby Convey and seven-time MLS All-Star all make the "roster" (squad) for the hosts.

The big news coming from across the pond is that United's new signing - Javier Chicharito Hernandez - looks very likely toget some game time for the Reds. After the young Mexican's impressive displays at the World Cup, United fans will be eager to see how Chicharito performs in their colours.

This will be United's 4th of their 5 game North American tour. Victories have already been notched up over Celtic and the Philadelphia Union, but the Red Devils sunk to a 2-1 defeat to the Kansas City Wizards last Sunday evening, setting up the All Star tie nicely.

Both teams will be sporting new football shirts - Manchester United continuing to wear their new season Nike kit, as revealed a few weeks ago on the SoccerBible, and the All-Star side sporting a brand new adidas soccer jersey. Whilst we've seen some of the leaked pictuers of the kit, we'll wait until kick off to pass judgement on the strip!

The new gear doesn't stop there as rumours of customised football boots and new footballs are all over the message boards and forums - but you can get the definitive answer by checking out our world famous boot spotting to see who wore what in the All Star game!
