Football Boots - Boot Spotting 30/08/10

A bumper selection of the latest and best football boots spottings, as the big Leagues in Spain and Italy get underway. Plus check out the regular Premier League and MLS spottings...

Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal) Nike CTR360 Masetri

The Arsenal captain sticks with the original colour release of the Nike CTR360 Maestri, although we couldn't help but notice the customised sole plate and Tiempo Legend stud configuration the midfield dynamo sports on his non-Elite pair.

Didier Drogba (Chelsea) Nike Mercurial Superfly SL

Last season, Drogba got off to such a flyer he stayed in the Black Pack Superfly boots practically all season. So we were surprised to see the Chelsea striker change up to the Bright Cactus Nike Mercurial Superfly II colourway already - but still complete with Nike (RED) laces and Didier's preferred Mercurial SL custom soleplate.

Sylvian Ebanks-Blake (Wolves) Nike CTR360 Maestri Elite

Hooray! A player in the Elite series! Wolves hitman Ebanks-Blake sported the Nike CTR360 Maestri Elite boots against Newcastle, hitting his second goal of the season in this Black/Retro colourway.

Mikael Arteta (Everton) adidas F50 adiZero

A hot topic in England at the moment with the international break, Everton midfielder Arterta adds to the ever growing list of players switching to the adidas F50 adizero - his choice being the Chameleon leather colourway. Arteta looks to be enjoying these boots, having worn them throughout pre-season and continuing with them into the new season.

Fernando Torres (Liverpool) Nike T90 Laser III

Liverpool fans will be pleased to see El Nino back onto the scoresheet, as his single goal against West Brom secured a vital 3 points. Torres is famously superstitious about his boot choices, so not much of a surprise to see the star striker in the latest white leather releases of the Nike T90 Laser III boots - complete with Boot ID personalisation on the side!

Carlos Tevez (Manchester City) Nike Tiempo Legend

Some more boot spot swapping - after having experimented with the CTR360 series, it seems Tevez has reverted back to his tried and tested Nike Tiempo Legend boots, which we have to admit still match the City kit perfectly.

Hugo Rodallega (Wigan) Nike Mercurial Superfly II

Starting the day sitting bottom of the league with a hefty negative goal difference, Wigan then proceeded to leave Spurs' White Hart Lane with all three points thanks to a late strike from Rodallega. Known for wanting to wear bright and loud boots, it's again no surprise the flamboyant striker opts for the Bright Cactus Nike Mercurial Superfly II boots.

Juan Pablo Angel (NY Red Bulls) adidas F50 adizero

Angel has sported many variations of the adidas F50 adizero's in recent weeks, including his own customised MLS Allstar miadidas versions, but took to the field against the San Jose Earthquakes wearing the limited release Cyan leather versions.

Samuel Eto'o (Inter Milan) Puma v1.10 SL Lightning

The UEFA Super Cup gave us another chance to check out Eto'o's great Puma v1.10 SL Lightning football boots (and the bespoke UEFA Super Cup football from adidas), complete with customised mixed sole plate. Eto'o also sports some great Boot ID personalisation with his squad number added just under the laces.

Antonio Cassano (Sampdoria) Diadora Kobra Pro

Serie A kicked off this weekend also, and Sampdoria's #99 Cassano continues to choose these in-no-way-subtle Diadora Kobra Pro boots in a very loud orange. Certainly makes spotting him on the pitch the easiest task of the weekend.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy (Hamburg) Nike Tiempo Legend Elite

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker was spotted wearing these Nike Tiempo Legend Elite boots, complete with soft ground studded Elite sole plate. And with his current colour choice of White/Red, another nice complimentary match with the Hamburg kit.

Clarence Seedorf (AC Milan) adidas adiPure III

We love a blackout boot spot at the SoccerBible, and had to share this spot of Seedorf's attempt to black out his adidas adiPure III boots. A good effort we say, using the Gold/Black versions as a base, but surely he could have just asked adidas for a pair of the already blacked out versions? Either way, it looks like Seedorf is going to need some more black paint before taking these for another spin.

Gonzalo Higuian (Real Madrid) adidas F50 adizero

La Liga returned in full force and after a positive World Cup, Higuain has switched to the White/Pink leather versions of the adidas F50 adizero. A nice touch from the Argentine as he has replaced the supplied pink laces with white ones to make the boots look even sharper and crisp!.

Image Image

Andrea Iniesta (Barcelona) Nike CTR360 Maestri Elite

Nike's CTR360 icon Iniesta doesn't disappoint and sported the latest CTR360 Maestri Elite colourway, netting a great goal as Barca cruised to a 3-0 victory in their first La Liga match up.

Alberto Paloschi (Parma) adidas Predator X DB

The young Italian striker is another recruit to the adidas Predator X DB colourway, which thanks to its' mega-bright red and white colourway stands out for miles on pitch.
