Karim Benzema has denied having any problem with Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho. French international Benzema has struggled to hold down a place in Mourinho's starting XI since the Portuguese's arrival at in the summer.

Benzema broke his duck for the season when he came off the bench to score in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Espanyol and the 22-year-old is confident he is part of Mourinho's plans at Real.

"We are talking a lot together. Really I have no problem with him," Benzema told L'Equipe. "I know he likes me and he relies on me. During training sessions, he's always breathing down my neck, for me to give my very best.

"He is very demanding and to me it is a good sign. That means he counts on me. Frankly, I feel fine both mentally and physically. I am convinced my turn will come. It is up to me to be decisive when I get an opportunity. Even with just a few minutes."
