Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 25/10/10

Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 25/10/10

Our resident Boot Spotters have been scouring the pitches around the globe this week to bring us some great boot spots, with more and more customised, unique and retro boots on show...

Image Image

Anatoliy Tymoschuk (Bayern Munich) adidas F50 adizero Custom

Bayern's Ukrainian midfielder has been sporting these blacked out customized adidas F50 afizero boots, taking the yellow boots and attempting to disguise them. Perhaps a little more colour is needed on these...

Image Image

Jonathan Pitroipa (Hamburg) adidas F50 adizero Custom

More adizero customisation, this time Hamburg's Pitroipa sporting a yellow, green and white combo F50 alongside some bright red laces. An interesting selection we're sure you'll agree!

Didier Ya Konan (Hannover 96) Puma v1.10

Not quite the first to hit the pitches with the new Fall colourway for the v1.10, but the Ivorian striker hit a delighful double in the new Purple Parachure/Ebony colourway of the Puma speed boots.

Image Image

Cedrick Makiadi (SC Freiburg) Pele Sports 1970

Freiburg's Makiadi was spotted wearing the Pele Sports 1970 football boots this weekend in the Bundesliga, and the Congo Republic attacker chose to sport the Black/Yellow versions against Kaiserslautern.

Image Image

Hugo Rodallega (Wigan) Nike ID Mercurial Vapor

Another chance to see Rodallega's custom Nike ID Mercurial boots as he hit the net against Bolton. But the more we look at these, the more we wonder whether his colour combo was the inspiration as these look very reminiscent of the leaked pictures of the supposed Superfly III that are doing the rounds...

Image Image

Somen Tchoyi (West Brom) Puma Powercat 1.10

Possibly the first pro outside of FIFA 11 to sport the latest colourway of the Puma Powercat 1.10, Albion's Tchoyi made a brief substitute appearance against Fulham coming on for his team-mate below...

Image Image

Jerome Thomas (West Brom) adidas F50 adizero

Now, we've seen a few players sporting this version of the adidas F50 adizero, so Thomas isn't the first. But are we going to tell him these are actually the women's release? Of course not!

Image Image

Shola Ameobi (Newcastle) adidas F50i

An old favourite was on show at at Upton Park, as Newcastle's Ameobi wore these adidas F50i boots complete with modified lace cover. Again, not wanting to point out the obvious to pro footballers, but did no one tell Shola the adizero's are available now?

Image Image

Javier Hernandez (Man Utd) Nike Tiempo Legend III

Not a new boot spot granted, but with all the drama surrounding Manchester United and Wayne Rooney of late, have the Red Devils found an alternative answer in young Chicharito? Judging by his double against Stoke in Nike Tiempo Legends, it certainly seems like it,,,

Image Image

Sung-Hwan Bryun (Sydney) Mzuno Morelia

Off to the A-League now as Sydney's Korean defender Bryun was spotted wearing these rather fetching bright red Mizuno Morelia boots, which certainly make an impression on the pitch.

Image Image

Nicholas Carle (Sydney) Puma King Finale

Bryun's Aussie team-mate Carle brings the Puma King Finale boots to the A-League, some months before their official release (at least in Europe). Having previously seen these on the feet of Martin Palermo, we're still encourage to see how good these look on pitch.

Image Image

Ryan Johnson (San Jose Earthquakes) Puma v1.10

Whilst the brand spanking new v1.10 colours are making appearances on pitch, the next couple of boot spots highlight one of the more recent but forgotten colourways. Johnson of the SJ Earthquakes is the first spot from this weekend's action

Image Image

Brian Ching (Houston Dynamos) Puma v1.10

Houston Dynamos Brian Ching was also spotted as a convert to the the Black/Yellow/Silver versions against Chicago Fire, and netted himself the matchball with a stunning hat-trick in the boots.

Image Image

Steve Zakuani (Seattle Sounders) adidas F50 adizero Pink

What's this - an unreleased adidas F50 adizero colourway? Unfortunately not - Zakuani was one of a trio of MLS players who sported pink adizero boots to raise the awareness of Breast Cancer.

Image Image

Ezequiel Carboni (Catania) adidas Predator Absolute Power

The Argentinian midfielder made a second half substitute appearance against Genoa this weekend, sporting the retro-tastic Predator Absolute Power boots, from late 2006. Mostly notable because they offered an added extra 60g of weight to make the Predators even more powerful!

Image Image

Ruben Olivera (Leece) Mizuno Wave Ignitus

Not a new boot granted, but a few weeks ago we spied Olivera wearing the Mizuno Supersonic Wave boots, and now it looks like the Uruguay midfielder has switched to the Mizuno Wave Ignitus. He certainly enjoys his Mizunos!

Image Image

Christian Chivu (Inter Milan) Nike CTR360

The impressive Inter defender has been an adipure star for a while now, so imagine our surprise to see him line up against Sampdoria in these blacked-out-ish Nike CTR360 Maestri boots. We actually really like these Blue Sapphire versions!

Image Image

Chico (Genoa) Mizuno Wave Ghost III

More retro boots spotting, as Genoa's "Chico" was spied wearing these vastly under-rated Mizuno Wave Ghost III boots against Catania. An interesting speed boot choice, featuring Kuraray to produce a synthetic upper that had all of the attributes of K-Leather, but at a fraction of the weight.

Image Image

Andy Carroll (Newcastle) Umbro Speciali

Andy Johnson (Fulham) Puma v1.10

An interesting spot from Upton Park as England U21 wore the Umbro Speciali boots, making a rare switch from adidas' adizero range. Perhaps seeing all that is happening to the man off the pitch, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt - even if it is starting to remind us of the first 'Goal' movie...

One more player swapping boots from the weekend, as Johnson was spotted in these Puma v1.10 boots after having previously worn all manner of Nike speed and power boots through his career.

If there are any players and boots you've spotted and think should feature on this page, mail us at: u2us@soccerbible.com putting 'Boot Spotting' in the subject field.
