Nov 1994. United 5 City 0

Feb 2008. United 1 City 2

Kanchelskis (Asics Testimonial )
This hammering illustrated the gulf in class between the two sides during the mid-nineties. Andrei Kanchelskis was the star of the show hitting a stunning hat-trick in Asics football boots, whilst Eric Cantona and Mark Hughes also got on the scoresheet.

Benjani (adidas Predator)
A minute's silence took place for the Munich air disaster, with United players wearing a retro styled kit to mark the occasion. Although Benjani clearly hadn't read the script as his goal from adidas Predator football boots earned City a shock victory.

Sep 1989. City 5 United 1 Hinchcliffe (Puma King)
After a ten minute delay for crowd trouble, top-flight new boys City were 3-0 up by the break. Andy Hinchcliffe rounded off the rout in Puma King football boots, leading Alex Ferguson to label this one as his 'most embarassing defeat'!

Nov 1993. City 2 United 3Cantona (Nike Tiempo)
United overturned a 2-0 deficit at Maine Road to win 3-2, inspiration of course came from Eric Cantona in Nike football boots who scored twice. Cantona became a key figure in the derbies, netting eight goals in encounters over the next four seasons.

City won the last ever derby at Maine Road, with Shaun Goater scoring his 100th and 101st goals for the club whilst wearing Nike Air Zoom Total 90 football boots. This was City's first win over United since the 5-1 victory in 1989, ending a 13-year barren run for the blue half of Manchester.
