Mid-week Boots Spotting - 03/11/10

Image

We've been spoilt this week with a host of brand new football boots on show, including new adidas and Puma colourways. Worn by the likes of Gareth Bale, David Beckham and Samuel Eto'o who all put in impressive performances...

Gareth Bale Roman Pavlyuchenko (Tottenham) adidas F50 adizero Intense Green

Gareth Bale and Roman Pavlyuchenko both gave the new Intense Green adiZero boots their Champions League debut last night as Tottenham put in an impressive display as they beat Inter Milan 3-1.

Samuel Eto'o (Inter Milan) Puma v1.10 SL Purple

As expected, Samuel Eto'o gave the new Purple Puma v1.10 SL boots their on pitch debut last night. Even though Inter lost last night, the new Puma v1.10 SL boots were in the spotlight for Eto'o's impressive goal, and we couldn't help but notice his bespoke number personalisation on the toe area.

David Villa (Barcelona) adidas adiZero Intense Green Leather

David Villa was seen last night for the first time in the Intense Green colourway of the adiZero boots. Villa obviously prefers the leather versions of the adiZero's as he has shown throughout previous colour-ways of the boot.

Goran Pandev (Inter Milan) adidas adiZero Intense Green

Goran Pandev gave his adizero's the colour update last night against Tottenham. Along with Bale and Pavlyuchenko, Pandev was the third player to be wearing the striking colour-way in the match last night.

Michael Carrick (Manchester United) Puma PowerCat 1.10

Michael Carrick, along with Nemanja Vidic, showcased the new Wht/Orng Puma PowerCat 1.10 last night for the first time on the European stage.

Bryan Ruiz of FC Twente was one of the few players who chose the new Electricity versions of the adidas Predator X football boots last night...

Denny Landzaat (FC Twente) adidas Predator X Electricty

FC Twente midfielder Denny Landzaat also updated his Predator X colour-way last night wearing the new Electricity colour-way of the boot.

JÉrÉmy Mathieu (Valencia) Puma v1.08

Valencia defender JÉrÉmy Mathieu continues to stick with his gold Puma v1.08 boots. Still an extremely light boot even by today's standards, theses striking v1.08s still look great on pitch.

Bebars Natcho (Rubin Kazan) adidas adiPURE III

Simao of FC Panathinaikos spotted here wearing his synthetic gold adiZeros along with Bebars Natcho of Rubin Kazan wearing a mixed sole plate version of the blk/orange adiPure III football boots.

Peter Wisgerhof (FC Twente) Lotto Stadio Fuoriclasse

FC Twente player Peter Wisgerhof was seen in his pair of Lotto Stadio Fuoriclasse boots last night as his side beat Werder Bremen 2-0.

William Gallas (Tottenham) Nike Mercurial Superfly

Tottenham defender William Gallas reverted back to the original Superfly boots last night. Gallas has been in and out of both the Superfly I and II boots this season but was seen last night in the SG vibrant yellow Superfly boots.

Christian Noboa (Rubin Kazan ) Puma v1.08

Christian Noboa clearly sees no need to update his Puma v1.08 football boots. The Rubin Kazan midfielder has been a long time wearer of the v1.08 boots and is seen here in the dandelion colour-way of the boot.

David Beckham (LA Galaxy) adidas Predator X

We're aware Beckham didn't feature in the Champions League last night, but his latest Predator colour way has been causing a lot of debate since he first wore them against Seattle Sounders at the weekend. The clean new colour-way goes well with his Galaxy kit but don't expect a release date for these new Predators any time soon.

If there are any players and boots you've spotted and think should feature on this page, mail us at: u2us@soccerbible.com putting 'Boot Spotting' in the subject field.
