Premier League - Big Game Match-up
It's a big game weekend in the Premier League with Chelsea facing Liverpool, but more interestingly it's Didier Drogba versus Fernando Torres and Frank Lampard versus Steven Gerrard!
As boot fans, it intrigues us that players in the same position and endorsed by the same brand select different footwear. Here are four of the main protagonists from Sunday's showdown between Liverpool and Chelsea, and we want to know which players you think will come out on top...
Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba are two of the best strikers in the world, both are fast and powerful players yet they choose to wear very different footwear. Drogba wears Nike Vapor Superfly II football boots as he feels his boots need to deliver speed, traction and support. Whilst Fernando plays in the Nike T90 Laser III football boots, as he prefers a boot that assists his shooting and passing accuracy. But are these boots suited to their games and style of play, and which player will have the better game?
The discussions over Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have been going on for about ten years, and as it seems there is no conclusion we thought we'd focus on their footwear. Both players have a similar style of play, with the ability to link up with the attack and unleash stinging shots.
However, Gerrard opts to wear the adidas Predator X football boots so his footwear assists the power and accuracy of his shots. But for Lampard who wears adidas adiPure III football boots, what's important is for his footwear to give him a great touch and feel of the ball.
