Gerrard spotted in new Predators?

It must drive the brands crazy, all they want to do is get their players to play test and try out a new boot, and all us boot fans want to do is spoil the surprise and catch a first glimpse of what is potentially the new adidas Predator football boot! But we wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't share with our boot fans these great pictures of Stevie G in some blacked-out boots.
There's been plenty of speculation as to what the eleventh incarnation of the adidas Predator football boots will be called, with such names as Predator Kinetic, Predator adiSonic and Predator adiPower all doing the rounds, but rather than add to the speculation, we're just going to present what's already out there and let you boot fans discuss.
The forums have been buzzing recently about the potential release of a new Predator to succeed the Predator X football boots. There have been numerous images floating around the web but now SoccerBible can bring you exclusive close-up images of Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker wearing what looks like a new blacked-out Predator whilst training.
From these images it looks like the 3 stripes on the inside of the boot are bulged up unlike any other previous Predator model. There are no confirmed reports on this but we're speculating that these could be designed to somehow aid and improve control. From our close-up cropped pictures the stripes certainly look a lot larger and seem to wrap further around the boot. The heel-counter also looks like it has been modified from the current Predator X.
A lot of speculation still surrounds the new Predator but as of yet there has been no official word, release date or any information on the specifications of the boot from adidas. Until now forums have speculating the next incarnation will be called the adidas Predator Kinetic football boots, however, we've had a tip off from some friends across the pond about a very subtle US trademark application made by a certain 'adidas AG' in early November for the trademark adiPower! Now obviously, we can't confirm or deny that this will be the name for the 11th Predator incarnation, but we have to admit the name adidas Predator adiPower football boots certainly sounds good!
