Football Boots Spotting - 31/01/11

Image

Check out the players and boots to make our weekly SoccerBible boots-spotting! The new adizero boots continue to make impressive displays with players choosing between the standard versions and the Prime, whilst a pair of Ronaldo's boots were spotted down under!

Angel Di Maria (Real Madrid) adidas Predator X

Di Maria sporting a new pair of adidas Predator X boots for Real Madrid, initially we thought these were the new White/Black/Green Maccaw colours, yet closer inspection reveals the Champions League star effect on the Predator Element in the striking green colour.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Southampton) adidas F50 adizero

One of the hottest properties around at the moment, Oxlade-Chamberlain put in an impressive performance against Manchester United. We notice Oxlade-Chamberlain is wearing the standard adidas F50 adizero football boots, and has opted for the synthetic uppers.

Giampaolo Pazzini (Inter Milan) Nike Tiempo Legend Elite

Pazzini only signed for Inter Milan earlier in the week, but he instantly showed the fans why they splashed the cash after scoring two Serie A goals on his Inter debut. An unusual boot choice for the striker, as he opts for the Nike Tiempo Legend Elite football boots, and for Sunday's game he was sporting a soft ground sole-plate.

Dani Alves (Barcelona) adidas F50 adizero Prime

Alves was back in the adizero football boots after wearing Yellow Superfly's for the previous two weeks. It looks as though Alves was in the adidas F50 adizero Prime football boots, however his boots had the standard non-multicoloured sole-plate.

Dimitri Petratos (Sydney FC) Nike Vapor VI

Sydney FC's Dimitri Petratos probably gets the gong for boot spot of the week, not only was Petratos in the Windchill Vapor VI football boots, but he'd also removed the lace cover!

Salomon Kalou (Chelsea) adidas F50 adizero Prime

Kalou was mixing it up as he took the laces from the Black/White/Electricity adizero's and threaded them into his Warning adizero football boots. An interesting fashion statement from Kalou, although the laces do match the studs and he did cap his performance off with a goal against Everton.

Lucas Barrios (Dortmund) Puma v1.06

Lucas Barrios has been one of the players of the season in the Bundesliga, and again helped Dortmund retain their impressive lead after scoring against Wolfsburg. It's a unique boot choice from Barrios, whilst most strikers decide between Vapor and adizero, Barrios is sticking with his Puma v1.06 football boots.

Emmanuel Adebayor (Real Madrid) adidas F50 adizero

Adebayor made his Real Madrid debut, and as another player to choose the standard adizero football boots over the Primes. Not only was this Adebayor's first outing for Real Madrid, but it was his first time in the new adidas football boots.

Lois Saha (Everton) adidas F50 adizero

Much like Alves, Saha can't settle on which football boots to wear! Two weeks ago Saha was sporting a pair of Nike Vapor Superfly football boots, but this week he was back in the leather adizero football boots.

Josh Mitchell (Perth Glory) Nike AZT90 II

A retro pair of boots on show here as Perth Glory's Josh Mitchell was spotted wearing some Nike Air Zoom Total 90 II football boots, which are obviously just a great boot he love's as there is no colour reference to the Perth kit.

Image Image

Lionel Messi (Barcelona) adidas F50 adizero

We had to showcase the adizero's lead player, especially after another two goals from Messi ensured Barca claimed all the points against Hercules and increase their lead at the top of the Primera Division. Messi is still in his leather adizero football boots and is yet to upgrade to the Prime.

Miralem Sulejmani (Ajax) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

A great spot here not just because the new CTR's are a great match for the Ajax strip, but also because Sulejmani has been wearing a variety of Vapor and Superfly football boots this season, ranging from Vapor III's to Ronaldo's Safari's.

Urby Emanuelson (AC Milan) adidas F50 adizero Prime

It's not been a good transfer window for Ajax after first losing Emanuelson and now Suarez, and Emanuelson made his debut for AC Milan wearing the Warning adizero Prime football boots. It was a victorious start for Emanuelson, which sees Milan remain at the top of Serie A.
