Football Boots Spotting - 08/02/11

Amongst the players and boots to make our weekly SoccerBible boots-spotting, were some brand new Puma colourways for both the v1.10 and SL versions. We also spotted Brazilian wonderkid Neymar wearing Cristiano's football boots, and a host of customized boots on show...

Silvestre Varela (FC Porto) Puma v1.10 SL

A new colourway for the Puma v1.10 SL football boots were on show as FC Porto's Silvestre Varela netted the only goal of the game against Rio Ave. It's another eye-catching release from Puma, but these actually go well with the Porto home kit with it's blue, white and orange detailing.

Fernando Torres (Chelsea) Nike T90 Laser III

Not so much a boot spotting, but more of an excuse to feature Fernando Torres in the Chelsea kit, and we're sure for some fans it still doesn't look quite right does it? Still, I think we could all agree that Fernando has got some great personalisation on his leather Nike T90 Laser III football boots.

Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan) adidas Predator X

An interesting stud configuration on Cambiasso's Predator boots was spotted as he took part in a thrilling game at the San Siro, with Inter Milan defeating Roma 5-3! We're not quite sure what boots the outsole is modelled on, but they certainly look bespoke to Cambiasso, especially with the red studs at the toe area.

Neymar (Brazil U20) Nike Vapor Superfly II

We don't know if it's a case of Nike saving their best for Ronaldo, which is why everyone os wearing them, or whether it's because Ronaldo is idolised by his fellow pro's. Because Brazilian wonderkid Neymar was sporting the Windchill Superfly's whilst on international duty with the Brazilian U20 side, and he's been in great form netting 7 goals in 5 appearances.

Lionel Messi (Barcelona) adidas F50 adizero

There may have been questions over whether Messi should have been awarded the Ballon d'Or, but there is surely no denying that the phenomenal forward is THE player in world football who can make the difference in a game. He may not have felt the urge to switch into Prime's, but Messi was still in devastating form as he struck a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid from his leather adizero football boots.

Didier Drogba (Chelsea) Nike Vapor Superfly II

Jamie Carragher had a close-up inspection of Didier Drogba's mixed stud sole-plate! Similar to the sole-plate worn by Cristiano Ronaldo, it seems Didier Drogba is yet to be happy with any of the updated Superfly outsoles.

Raphael Nuzzolo (Neuchatel Xamax) Puma v1.10

A good boot spot from SoccerBible user M. L. Bui, who spotted Neuchatel Xamax captain Nuzzolo sporting the regular versions of the v1.10 football boots in the striking new Fluorescent Orange colourway. A real stand-out colourway, it doesn't strictly go with the Neuchatel football strip, but certainly get's you noticed on the pitch!

Image Image

Milivoje Novakovic (Cologne) Nike Vapor Superfly I

Credit for this spot goes to SoccerBible user Tomasz Podbereski, and we have to say we like what Novakovic has done with his Superfly I's by blacking out the pink Swoosh. Cologne's Novakovic was on target twice against Bayern Munich to earn his team a 3-2 victory.

Maxi Rodriguez (Liverpool) adidas Predator X

Various Pred wearers across Europe are being spotted wearing the new White/Maccaw Green Predator X football boots, interestingly though, despite the star configuration on the Predator Element the boots are not Champions League specific, so we'll let Maxi Rodriguez off then!

Image Image

Dani Alves (Barcelona) adidas F50 adizero

There have been a couple of players this season who have consistently changed their footwear, an interesting concept as we like to stick to the same boots, but Dani Alves is clearly happy to mix things up. In the last 3 weeks Alves has worn Vapor Superfly, adizero Prime and now he's back in the adizero Chameleon!

Image Image

Lassana Diarra (Real Madrid) adidas Predator X Custom

Diarra was sporting a very interesting pair of adidas Predator X boots, and by looking at the outsole and studs we can tell his boots used to be the Champions League versions. But you can clearly see the Pred Element and adidas branding has been covered, and it has to be said whoever has done it has done a good job.

Image Image

Cristian Brocchi (Lazio) adidas Predator X

Lazio captain Cristian Brocchi last week made a brief switch into the World Cup adipure football boots, but was back in his more regular Predator X boots this week, although we noticed he was sporting the new White/Maccaw Green colourway.

Image Image

Jamie Carrragher (Liverpool) adidas Predator X Custom

Despite getting a face full of studs and grass, Jamie Carragher made an impressive return to the Liverpool starting line-up, and was actually showing off a new pair of customised adidas Predator X football boots. Clearly inspired by his beloved Liverpool, Carragher's Preds featured red and white detailing.

Kyle Walker (Aston Villa) Umbro Stealth II

The Umbro Stealth football boots are one of the more understated boots on the market, but can still boast the likes of Jagielka, Cahill and Gutierrez as wearers. So they're a suitable boot for Kyle Walker then, who has until now been an understated player in the Premier League. Walker has just been called up to the England squad, and according to Jack Wilshere on twitter is the next England right back!
