We've put together a shortlist of the current frontrunners for the Premier League 'Player of the Season'! We're sure everyone's got an opinion on who it should be, but our friends at Castrol Stats have been able to provide us with some hard facts for the players who have been in top-form...

Our shortlist includes Samir Nasri, Gareth Bale, Carlos Tevez, Rafael Van der Vaart, Dimitar Berbatov and Charlie Adam, and although there will be many who disagree with the list, statistically these are the players who have been taking the Premier League by storm during the 2010/11 season!

Each player featured has excelled in different areas of the game, so whether it's Samir Nasri completing 87% of his passes, Berbatov scoring a goal every 86 minutes or Charlie Adam passing the ball over 1200 times, these guys have been making the difference throughout the course of the season.

One of the favourites to win the accolade is Samir Nasri, and the Arsenal midfielder has certainly been in stunning form this season netting nine Premier League goals with a shooting accuracy of 68%. Only four players have scored more goals so far this season and Nasri has also grabbed five more in other competitions, making him one of only two players to net in all three domestic competitions and Europe this season.

So, who's caught your eye during the 10/11 Premier League season and deserves to be crowned 'Player of the Season'? Is it any of the players featured above or should we be expecting a late charge from the likes of Fernando Torres or Wayne Rooney?
