Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 28/02/11

Check out the players and boots to make our weekly SoccerBible boots-spotting! It's a bit of an adizero special this one, with a host of players snapped in the brand new white/pink/cyan colourways. But there was also plenty of interesting and custom boots to be seen throughout the globe! Take a look at what boots from across the world are featured in our latest boots-spotting...

Fabio Coentrao (Benfica) adidas F50 adiZero

Coentrao is one of Europe's hottest properties with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool chasing the left-sided players signature. Coentrao turned out for Benfica wearing the new leather versions of the white/radiant pink/cyan adidas F50 adizero football boots.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) Nike Vapor Superfly II

We're not sure if Ronaldo is rotating his footwear to maximise exposure, as he was back in the windchill Nike Vapor Superfly football boots this weekend. There doesn't seem to be any performance reason, as both boots feature the same sole-plate so it must just be down to personal choice.

Obafemi Martins (Birmingham City) adidas F50 adizero Prime

Obafemi Martins was the hero of the weekend as he scored the winning goal in the Carling Cup final, capitalising on a huge mix up between defender and goalkeeper. Martins was in the Prime versions of the adidas F50 adizero football boots.

Ashley Young (Aston Villa) adidas F50 adizero Prime

Ashley Young was another player sporting the latest colourway for the adidas F50 adizero Prime football boots, and the Aston Villa captain gave his side the lead from the penalty spot in the second half. It has to be said also, that his boots really stood out in contrast to the Villa kit.

Vagner Love (CSKA Moscow) adidas F50 adizero Custom

A very interesting custom pair of adizero football boots on show in Russia, as the eccentric looking Vagner Love looks to have given his boots a paint job. Though it may look like Love has dipped his boots in paint, we'd suggest it is actually white paint that has come off from the toe area after he whited out a pair of leather Cyan's.

Michele Canini (Cagliari) Nike T90 Laser III

Cagliari's Canini was sporting a great looking pair of two-tone Nike T90 Laser III football boots, at one stage these boots could have been the white/photo blue/dark charcoal versions, if Canini has blacked out the pods on the ShotShield and whited out the Swoosh.

Maxi Lopez (Catania) adidas F50 adizero

Maxi Lopez was another player to score as he gave his white/radiant pink/cyan adidas F50 adizero football boots their debut. But it is interesting to see that despite wearing synthetic uppers, Lopez prefers not to wear the adizero Prime.

Luciano Amaral (Maritmo) Nike Vapor Superfly II

Ronaldo may not be wearing them anymore, but Maritmo's Luciano Amaral was one player spotted this weekend in the CR Safari Superfly football boots, and it looks as if Amaral was happy to wear the original sole-plate.

Marcel Risse (FSV Mainz 05) adidas F50 adizero Prime

Not happy to just wear black boots featuring fluorescent yellow highlights, Risse decided to spice up his boots by threading some bright orange laces. The FSV Mainz player is another to join the Prime versus standard versions debate, by choosing to wear the Prime.

David Villa (Barcelona) adidas F50 adizero

For once it was David Villa, not team mate Lionel Messi, who debuted a new colourway for the adidas F50 adizero football boots. Villa was sporting the white/radiant pink/cyan adizero's, a boot that really does stand-out on pitch, although as we know from our boot feature article has really divided opinions.

Neven Subotic (Borussia Dortmund) Puma v1.10

There haven't been a huge amount of players wearing the white/pompien red Puma football boots, which has surprised us slightly as we thought they were quite a classy colourway. These versions were being worn by Dortmund defender Subotic, who had a great weekend as Dortmund beat Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Allianz Arena.

Hugo Rodallega (Wigan Athletic) adidas F50 adizero

It looks as if Rodallega has settled in the adidas F50 adizero football boots for the time being. Rodallega has quite famously been unsettled in his footwear, and appears to wear a different boot almost very two weeks, so we'll have to see how long he stays in the adizero's for.

Artem Milevskiy (Dynamo Kiev) adidas F50 adizero

Another good spot of the new White/Pink/Cyan leather adiZero football boots here. Dynamo Kiev's Artem Milevskiy was spotted in the new adidas boots during their UEFA Europa League match against Beskitas.

Yoshizumi Ogawa (Nagoya Grampus) Mizuno Estrela

Yoshizumi Ogawa spotted in a pair of Japan exclusive Mizuno Estrela football boots customized with red laces. Ogawa was spotted during the Super Cup clash between Nagoya Grampus and Kashima Antlers.
