Nike Superfly III Launch - Behind the Scenes

Image

Yesterday (30.03.11) SoccerBible was invited to the official launch event of the Nike Superfly III at Nike Town London! The worlds biggest Nike Town was the venue for the new Mercurial's introduction to the worlds media. Two London based Superfly players were on hand to talk about the new boots - Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon stopped by to share their thoughts.

As ever, we're keen to bring our worldwide SoccerBible audience as close to the action as possible! Check out all of our exclusive behind the scenes images of the event as the day unfolded...

For those who haven't had the opportunity to visit London's Nike Town, the multi-story building at the heart of the city is home to everything Nike! Their Nike boot room is a wall-to-wall experience of the latest Nike boots along with exclusive iD studios.

With the worlds media in place, the stage was set for one of the Premier Leagues most exciting Superfly wearers! Theo Walcott quickly arrived fresh from an Arsenal training session to give his thoughts on his new boots. Stay tuned as we'll be bringing you exclusive video coverage of the event soon!

One of the Superfly's most electrifying players was questioned on everything from the new boots to his Arsenal manager. Having been forced out of the game for several weeks with injury, the Arsenal man hasn't given his new boots their first competitive run out yet. Walcott explained how he couldn't wait to test out his new boots in competitive action soon.

Competition winners joined the event and were given the opportunity to design a pair of NikeiD Superfly III boots with Tottenham speedster Aaron Lennon. As they took their places in the ultra-cool NikeiD cube surrounded by a wall of Nike's hottest boots, Aaron Lennon joined the party to help design the boots!

The Tottenham winger was more than happy to take part, giving his opinion on some of the colour-ways on show! Aaron then gave SoccerBible his time as we fired some questions at the Spurs man. We chatted about his new boots and his upcoming trip to the Santiago BernabÉu! We'll be bringing you the full exclusive interview soon.

We're sure it hasn't escaped your attention that the Superfly III boots on show feature a different instep pattern to the current lightning bolt design. Our lips are sealed on this one we're afraid! All we can say is expect a very special Superfly release some time over the next month!

Trying to mix and match a three colour combination isn't as easy as it seems! It was interesting to see the colour choices the competition winners were opting for. Although Nike iD lets you custom choose your own colour combinations, it sometimes makes you realise why the official pro colour-ways are left to the experienced Nike designers!

As the iD event came to a close, Nike took the time with Theo Walcott to film a new Superfly ad! It's hot under wraps at the moment but keep your eyes peeled for a new commercial that could be landing soon.

The Superfly players put their local rivalries to one side to talk football and meet fans! The two wingers will go head-to-head on April 20th when Arsenal travel to Tottenham in what promises to be a mouth watering London derby!

The event wouldn't have been complete without a signed pair of Lennon/Walcott boots! The Mercurial players were more than happy to offer their signatures before they were forced away through the crowd of London fans!
