Legends Win It For United

Legends Win It For United

United once again broke Chelsea hearts in the Champions League after recording a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford, courtesy of two players wearing Nike Legend football boots. On an evening when new-boy Torres failed to impress, and old-boy Giggs turned orchestrator...

Young Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, who's had an impressive debut season in England and was incredibly over-looked for the Young PFA Player of the Season, gave Manchester United the lead after 43 minutes connecting with a Ryan Giggs cross. And it was the 37-year-old United midfielder playing in Reebok football boots who turned provider once again, immediately cancelling out a Chelsea equaliser, by setting up Ji-Sung Park to score a winning goal for Manchester United in the 77th minute.

It was interesting to see that in the current boot market, with all the fuss surrounding speed boots such as the Mercurial Superfly and adizero Prime, that it was two Nike Legend wearers who won the game for United. Both Ji-Sung Park and Chicarito opt to wear the all-round performance K leather Tiempo Legend III football boots, with Park sporting the new Team Red colourway and Chicharito in the White/Volt.

In contrast, it was another miserable night for Fernando Torres who has now gone 817 minutes and 13 matches for club and country without scoring. And whose withdrawal at half-time compounded by the fact his replacement Didier Drogba scored, can't have helped his confidence.

There were plenty of talking points from last night's Champions League quarter final, we'd love to hear your opinions and join the
conversations with the SoccerBible community online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
