PFA Player of the Year Shortlist

PFA Player of the Year Shortlist

The seven-man shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award has been revealed, and whether your favourite player has been included or not, we'd love to hear your opinions on who you think should win the much coveted accolade.

Voted for by their peers, the seven nominees are the outstanding performers in this seasons Premier League, and they are Samir Nasri, Charlie Adam, Gareth Bale, Scott Parker, Nemanja Vidic, Carlos Tevez and Rafael van der Vaart. There's no doubt these players have had an influential campaign and been star performers, but are they deserving of being single-out as the Player of the Season?

F50 adizero wearer Samir Nasri had a great start to the season, scoring some fantastic goals that have led to 14-goal haul so far this season. However, injury has disrupted his campaign and since being rushed back to face Barcelona he hasn't looked like the same player.

Over the past 12 months Gareth Bale has been a revelation, with his relentless pace and direct running terrorising defenders, non more so than Inter Milan's Maicon. However, despite a wonderful exhibition of pace, power and control during the first half of the season, the second half of his campaign has also been blighted by injuries.

Pred wearer Charlie Adam is not only the man who inspired Blackpool's promotion to the Premier League, but he also represents their best hopes of staying up. There's a reason why Adam has attracted the attention of Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham, scorer of 10 goals from midfield his passing and dead-ball ability in particular have caught the eye.

It's fair to say Scott Parker has carried West Ham this season, he's industrious, brave and disciplined in his defensive duties, which hasn't gone unnoticed by the England manager. But the midfielder also has the instinct to spring forward, as proved by his seven goals.

Nemanja Vidic has worn the captain's armband, and been a towering presence at the back for United whether he's partnered Ferdinand, Smalling or Evans. The PowerCat wearer stands firm at the back, is supremely strong and formidable both in the air and on the ground.

Despite claiming he wanted to leave in December, Tevez has been Manchester City's most inspirational player. The striker can boast a 22-goal haul, which is eight more than the combined efforts of Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko.

The Dutchman has been an integral part of Tottenham's successful 2010/11 campaign with a string of consistently impressive performances in the Premier League and Champions League. Twelve goals and counting in his first EPL season speaks for itself.
