Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 11/04/11

With the season approaching its climax, European action was in full force this weekend with some of the worlds best players in action. There was a whole array of various football boots spotted with new, unreleased and custom boots all on show! Take a look at what players and boots have made it in this week...

Samuel Eto'o (Inter Milan) Puma v1.10 SL Olympian Blue

Samuel Eto'o made his first appearance wearing the new Olympian Blue Puma v1.10 SL boots for Inter Milan as they recaptured second place in Serie A. The Inter striker has been spotted in every other colour-way of his trusted v1.10 SL boots, but this was the first sighting of the former Barca man wearing the latest edition that matches his club kit so well!

Yossi Benayoun (Chelsea) Nike Mercurial Superfly

Yossi Benayoun made his long awaited return for Chelsea at the weekend wearing the same boots as when picked up his injury in September 2010! The former Liverpool man was wearing his old pair of Nike Superfly I football boots as Chelsea took on a resilient Wigan side. Chelsea fans will hope that Benayoun's re-union with Fernando Torres will spring the Spaniard into goal-scoring form.

Bastin Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich) adidas adiPURE IV

Bastin Schweinsteiger has us all scratching our heads with his latest boot choice. The German international was spotted in an adiPURE IV with a unique, never-before-seen sole-plate. We've heard whispers that he may be trailing a new adidas sole-plate that will look to feature break-through performance technology.

Tony Hibbert (Everton) Umbro Stealth II Pro

Hibbert is the first player we've spotted wearing the black/orange Umbro Stealth Pro II football boots. The Everton full-back is one of the few players who remains faithful to the Stealth range, having worn both generations of the boots and often wearing the latest colourways to be released.

Pablo Piatti (Almeria) Puma PowerCat 1.10

Almeria's Pablo Piatti was spotted in the new White/Black/Blue Puma PowerCat football boots as his bottom of the table side took on Barcelona at the Camp Nou. The former adiZero wearer was behind the assist that led to Almeria's shock 1-0 lead just five minutes into the first half. The Spanish champions strength proved too much though as they went on to win 3-1.

Jalil Anibaba (Chicago Fire) Nike Tiempo Legend III

Anibaba had begun the MLS season wearing the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots, but has now changed back into Nike Legends. Although it looks like Anibaba has customised his boots, as you can see from the volt coloured studs that Jalil has colured in the Swoosh and threaded some Nike (RED) laces.

Albert Crusat Domene (Almeria) Mizuno Wave Ghost

Here's a boot we don't see too often! Almeria's Albert Crusat Domene was spotted in a pair of Mizuno Wave Ghost football boots during his sides clash with Barcelona. The unique, adiZero-like Mizuno speed boots fell off the radar after a poor player uptake, but still seem to be favoured by the Almeria winger.

Didier Drogba (Chelsea) Nike Mercurial Superfly II

Didier Drogba was at it again this weekend. As he did during his sides Champions League match, the veteran striker made the switch from his Superfly III's to his trusted black/orange Superfly II boots! His personalised Superfly II boots featured a custom sole-plate from the old Nike Vapor SL boots.

              Hulk (Porto) Mizuno Morelia Classic

Porto's Brazilian forward 'Hulk' Souza was spotted in a new pair of Brazil inspired Mizuno Morelia football boots this weekend! We haven't heard any official word from Mizuno, but from the looks of things there could be a new release on the way!

Kevin Grosskreutz (Dortmund) adidas F50 adiZero

Dortmund's Kevin Grosskreutz spotted in a pair of blacked-out adiZero football boots at the weekend as his side took on Hamburg SV in the Bundesliga. The Dortmund born winger has a history of blacking out his football boots and seems to have done a good job with his latest pair!

Ryan Johnson (San Jose Earthquake) Puma v1.10 JB Final

One of the flyest boots on the market, the gold/green Puma v1.10 football boots weren't as popular as we'd expected, but this is probably due to their strong association with the World Cup final. So it's great to see the boots getting some more playing time with San Jose Earthquake's Johnson, seemingly just discovering the boots.

Artem Dzyuba (Spartak Moscow) Nike Mercurial SL

Spartak Moscow forward Artem Dzyuba was spotted wearing a Vapor fans' favourite. The Mercurial SL versions were extremely popular when available, unfortunately the range is now discontinued. But it's still great to see players pulling on their old favourite football boots, and Dzyuba was sporting the red/gold versions from the Vapor IV range.

Sergei Ignashevich (CSKA Moscow) Lotto Zhero Evolution

Ignashevich clearly doesn't feel the need to change or update his football boots, as he's still wearing his white/red Lotto Zhero Evolution boots. Amazingly, the CSKA Moscow centre-back has been wearing the Evolution's since October 2009!
