Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 03/05/11

Credit to our SoccerBible fans, who have flooded our inbox with some intriguing boots spots this week. As you'd expect there's a host of new, old and interesting colourways on show...

Ibrahim Afellay (Barcelona) Puma v1.10 SL

It looks like Puma have been able to recruit another top player to wear the v1.10 SL football boots along with Samuel Eto'o. Afellay has worn the SL's for back-to-back games now so we can say he's made the switch into the boot, that at one stage was the lightest production boot on the market.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Saint-Etienne) Nike Vapor Superfly II

There's always plenty of debate on the SoccerBible Global Galleries, when a Superfly boot is shown with a colourway outside of the normal Nike releases. So here's another example, but as they're being worn by a professional player there can be no doubt that Aubameyang's boots are a genuine Nike boot.

Martin Fenin (Eintracht Frankfurt) Nike Mercurial Vapor III

Fenin is continuing to showcase his collection of Vapor III football boots, after last week being spotted in a blue colourway Fenin was wearing these white/yellow versions for Frankfurt's latest game. Such an iconic boot, we reckon these would be a popular re-release from Nike.

Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow) Mizuno Ignitus

Not yet to be officially announced, but Honda is surely sporting the latest versions of the Wave Ignitus. He's the lead player for the boot, which features the Mukaiten panel, and we can't wait to hear and release more info on these eye-catching new football boots.

Sebastien Le Toux (Philadelphia Union) adidas F50 adizero

After a brief flirtation with the Vapor Superfly, Le Toux is back in the adidas F50 adizero football boots wearing the whited-out versions. And as a little touch to personalise the boots, Le Toux has re-threaded some blue laces to match the subtle blue studs.

Vagner Love (CSKA Moscow) adidas F50 adizero

In contrast to Le Toux, Vagner Love is sporting some blacked-out adizero football boots. Quite a toned down boot for Love, who had been wearing his own customised adizero's.

Fredy Montero (Seattle Sounders) adidas F50 adizero

One of the flyest colour releases for the original adizero football boots, there surprisingly wasn't that many players who opted to wear the chrome adizero. But as proven by Montero, the boots make a great impact on pitch, and are certainly one of the more bespoke colourways.

Javier Pastore (Palermo) Nike Mercurial Vapor 7

One of football's most wanted men, Pastore is a talented Argentinian who is having an impressive season with Palermo. Pastore had previously given the adizero's a try, but is back in the Mercurial range and interestingly wearing the Vapors.

Leonardo Ponzio (Real Zaragoza) Nike Unknown

A bit of a mystery this one, as Ponzio is clearly wearing a pair of blacked-out football boots but which boot silo is unknown. We're open to suggestions as the markings are quite unique, but is Ponzio in a brand new boot or is he wearing an old pair?

Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) adidas adiPure IV

It was a dream return to the starting line-up for Aaron Ramsey, as he scored the winning goal against Manchester Untied. Ramsey has had a torrid time due to his horrific injury, and been forced to watch on as Wilshere has emerged as a first teamer, but the adiPure wearer was given his chance against United and didn't disappoint.

Elkin Soto (Mainz) Mizuno Supersonic Wave

When it comes to leather and comfort, Mizuno are one of the leading brands in the market. The Supersonic Wave football boots are one of their most recent releases, and as you can see are a great match for Soto's Mainz football kit.

Francesco Totti (Roma) Nike Tiempo Legend III

Despite being a global star, Totti hasn't been attached to a major brand for quite some time. He had previously worn a blacked-out pair of adidas Predator PowerSwerve football boots, before blacking out his Legends, but it looks as though he might need to re-apply the paint!
