Sergio Aguero - Worthy Successor to Tevez?

Sergio Aguero - Worthy Successor to Tevez?

As Carlos Tevez's imminent exit from Manchester City continues to loom, his next destination is still anyone s guess. One thing for certain though, is Manchester City's desire to replace their Argentine goal-machine with a player capable of filling his boots.

The Premier League high rollers have made no secret of their no.1 target this summer. Argentine striker Sergio 'Kun' Aguero is seen as the next piece to the multi-million pound City puzzle. Could the Atletico Madrid striker be on his way to the Etihad Stadium, and is he the right man to replace Tevez? Take a look at the stats and share your thoughts online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

The revolving door at Manchester City could be ready to welcome one Argentine just as another departs. Sergio Aguero tops the list of Europe s most wanted and it's no surprise why. Aguero was the joint third top scorer in the Primera Liga last season with 20 goals - no shame in being eclipsed by Ronaldo and Messi!

What makes Aguero even more valuable as a prospect City player is the strikers European record. He has scored 16 goals in just 34 appearances in European competition. With Manchester City announcing their arrival into Europe s elite tournament, could Aguero be the key to unlock Champions League glory?

Without question, Manchester City would not be where they are without Carlos Tevez. No single player has been more valuable to a team than Man City's number 32. Tevez directly contributed to a staggering 43% of Manchester City's 60 goals, scoring 33% of them. A consistent goal threat throughout the season, Tevez was an integral part in delivering Champions League qualification and an FA Cup to the Premier League side.

If Manchester City had their way, Carlos Tevez's replacement would be Carlos Tevez. But with a younger Sergio Aguero looking more of a possibility each day, the 23-year old certainly has the ability to fill such a dramatic void.

The 'Tevez out, Aguero in' story is dominating headlines. Will a deal be made and would Aguero be a good fit for Premier League title challengers Manchester City? Share your thoughts with the SoccerBible community online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
