Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 25/07/11

It was another action-packed week of football as the countdown to the new season continues! Once again, our team of SoccerBible boot spotters have been busy tracking down the best soccer shoes on show across the globe. Check out what players on boots have made it in this week. Share your thoughts online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Frank Opoku Acheampong (Thailand) Nike Mercurial Superfly III

They're still not on the feet of Cristiano Ronaldo, but the new Orange/Black/Volt/SilverNike Superfly III football boots are slowly gaining momentum across the globe. They've reached Asian territory with Thailand's number 12 Frank Opoku Acheampong making an appearance in the latest Mercurial release.

Lucas Barrios (Paraguay) Puma v1.10 SL

Lucas Barios' boots haven t gone unnoticed in this years Copa America. The Argentine Borussia Dortmund striker wore his unique v1.10 SL football boots towards the end of last season in the Bundesliga and, despite a recent spell in the green v1.11 SL against Brazil, has now reverted back to his trusted Puma speed boots.

Andres Iniesta (Barcelona) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

After the overwhelming success of 2010/11, it's time for Barcelona's stars to begin another highly anticipated campaign. In their first pre-season fixture against Hajduk Split, Andres Iniesta was spotted in his new pair of Nike CTR360 football boots bespoke with a custom sole-plate. Barca were also wearing the new home-strip as they prepare for their US tour this week.

Stuart Downing (Liverpool) adidas F50 adiZero Prime

Liverpool's unveiling of a new £43million midfield didn t exactly go to plan. Liverpool new boy Stuart Downing joined costly recruit Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam in Liverpool's new look side wearing the unmistakeably garish ElectricityadiZero Prime football boots. Liverpool were defeated 3-0 by Hull in their first pre-season fixture on English soil.

LoÏc RÉmy (Olympique Marseille) Puma v1.11 Leather

Olympique Marseille striker and France international Loic Remy has flirted with a variation of Puma football boots in recent times, making appearances in King's and v1.08's. From the looks of things, Remy might have found the ideal combination of leather and speed as he was spotted wearing an all black pair of v1.11 leather football boots.

Nenad Milijas (Wolves) adidas F50 adiZero

Former Mercurial wearer Nenad Milijas has been an adiZero recruit for some time now but this is the first appearance we've seen of his custom-coloured white/goldadiZero football boots! Wolves were in action against Notts County in a pre-season fixture. A really sharp looking boot that is a perfect fit with the Wolverhampton home colours!

Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid) adidas Predator adiPower

Real Madrid's Spanish World Cup winner Alvaro Arbeloa spotted in an all-white pair of adiPower Predator football boots as his side took on the Philadelphia Union. They're presumably an early prototype version that Arbeloa has kept his hands on for Madrid's pre-season tour of the USA.

Fernando Torres (Chelsea) Nike T90 Laser III Leather

Maybe a new pair of boots will spark a goal frenzy for Fernando Torres. The Chelsea striker made his first appearance wearing the new White/Red/BlackNike T90 Laser III football boots. No real surprises there considering the Spaniards preference towards leather boots. Chelsea were in action during a pre-season match against the Thailand All Stars.

Giancarlo Maldonado (Venezuela) adidas F50 adiZero

Our second custom adiZero spot of the week! Venezuelan forward Giancarlo Maldonado was spotted in a white/silver pair of original F50 adiZero boots as his side took on Peru in the Copa America. Venezuela's number 9 has used a variety of adiZero's throughout the summer, but he chose to close out his tournament with these super-clean customs.

Luca Modric (Tottenham Hotspur) Nike Mercurial Superfly III

Tottenham want-away Luca Modric captained his side in the Vodacom Challenge final against Orlando Pirates wearing a personalised pair of Granite/Purple/White/RedNike Mercurial Superfly III football boots. Featuring a Croatian flag on the inside, the boots looked great with Tottenham's super-clean all-white home strip.

Aye Anche (Olympique Marseille) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Loic Remy wasn't the only man wearing a pair of blacked out football boots during the Olympique Marseille and Udinese pre-season friendly. Marseilles number 20 Aye Anche was spotted wearing an all-black pair of Nike Tiempo Legend IV football boots along with Marseilles smart looking new home strip.
