Forever Forward - Nike Celebrates Arsenal Football

Born in 1886, this year marks the 125th anniversary of London s most successful football club, Arsenal FC. For 125 years both on and off the pitch, Arsenal has embodied style and class. The club that has pioneered some of the sport s greatest traditions continues to be a true innovator of the beautiful game.

In celebration of Arsenal s continued legacy, Nike has commissioned a short film entitled Forever Forward to reflect upon the club s past and future. The film features four game-changing Gunners: critically acclaimed filmmaker, Spike Lee; BBC Radio 1 DJ, Gilles Peterson; Arena Homme+ Editor, Ashley Heath and Arsenal and England international, Theo Walcott.

Through these Arsenal mavericks Forever Forward reveals the passion, forward-thinking philosophy, style and belief in youth that the club inspires. Forever Forward presents exclusive insight from these Gunners on their connection to the club and their hopes for the future of Arsenal FC. Each fan delivers a personal pledge to the club that preoccupies their hearts and minds.

Forever Forward was directed by London based photographer and videographer Ryan Hopkinson. The creative treatment is an expression of both Arsenal s unique blend of heritage and modernity, and of Ryan s aesthetic appreciation of style, sport, masculinity, tradition and youth culture. As such the film perfectly embodies the loyalty, connection and devotion that Arsenal fans feel for their football club.

Throughout the month of August Nike s 1948 space in Shoreditch is dedicated to celebrating the club s 125 year history. Visitors to 1948 can enjoy live game screenings and events, take in club memorabilia and purchase one of the 125 limited edition Arsenal 125 NSW Destroyer jackets and super exclusive (25 pairs only) Arsenal Air Max 1 Hyperfuse footwear with 22K Gold dubraes. Forever Forward will be screened on a spectacular 4-way multimedia installation throughout the celebration month.

1948 will be hosting a fortnight of forward-thinking music with 2 Grass Roots BBQ sessions on Wednesday 24 and Tuesday 30. The first one on Wednesday 24 will be hosted by lifelong Arsenal fan and progressive Radio 1 DJ Benji B and headlined by former Arsenal Youth Team player and Dubstep hero Benga.
