The boot community has been on high alert in recent weeks with suggestions surfacing of one of the biggest brand transfers in football history! Last night, the Catalan superstar in question took to his Twitter account to announce the news we'd all been expecting - Cesc Fabregas, the former Nike and Arsenal player, has become Puma's latest and arguably biggest signing!

Joining an exciting list of football stars to recently sign with the German brand, the Barcelona midfielder joins Sergio Aguero and Radamel Falcao as Puma's latest high-profile recruits! Cesc's video announcement came with an added bonus for boot fans, as he gave an early preview of the upcoming Puma PowerCat 1.12 - a sure sign that the boots release is just around the corner!

Speaking about the new partnership, Cesc said; I am very happy about this new partnership with PUMA and really looking forward to wearing the new PowerCat 1.12 on pitch this weekend. This boot gives me a lot of confidence to compete physically in midfield, which is obviously very important. I need a boot that I am comfortable in, and which gives me the protection and power to play at my best.''

''This has been a great summer for me, signing again for Barcelona and now for PUMA. This brand has a great attitude, and PUMA has some exciting plans for me that I m thrilled to be a part of. I m looking forward to a long partnership with them.
