Going Green - Nike Mercurial Football Boots
Last weekend saw one of the brightest boots to ever kick a football arrive on our screens! The unmissable Volt/Purple/Retro Nike Superfly III football boots created a real stir across the online boot community and while they may require some Edgar Davids-like glasses for long-term viewing, Nike's new colourway is already proving to be a huge hit!
You can be forgiven for thinking you've seen similar looking Vapor's before. Green colourways are no strangers to the Nike Mercurial range. Having first appeared on the 2007 Nike Mercurial Vapor III Cactus, variations of the bright colour have gone on to create some of the most popular Nike Vapor boots!
As the Nike Mercurial range underwent its most significant transition from the Vapor III to IV, Nike had lined up a new take on the Vapor III Cactus for Ronaldo and co. - the Nike Vapor IV Citron - an electric colourway regarded by many as the most successful in recent Vapor history!
After taking a year out following the launch of the Nike Superfly, the 'Cactus' labelled green of 2007 returned once more for the Nike Mercurial Superfly II - this time accompanied by an Anthracite patterned instep. Once again, Europe s tops professionals immediately took to the new colourway!
Most recently Nike have stepped it up a gear for their latest colourway! Holding nothing back with the colour combinations, the boot takes off from where the Citron Vapor IV finished. After a weekend of endless boot-spots, Nike's new generation of Mercurial players simultaneously marked the boots arrival...along with some familiar faces as well!
The Nike Mercurial line has been instrumental in affecting the way brightly coloured boots are designed. After all, who can forget these? The new Volt/Purple/Retro Mercurial boots are the latest green-fuelled colourway to land, and they certainly won't be the last!
