MLS Pink Spotting - Soccer Kicks Cancer

MLS Pink Spotting - Soccer Kicks Cancer

You might have noticed a splash more colour in the MLS over the last few days, and that's because for the month of October, clubs and players will be conducting efforts to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and treatment. Here's a look at a selection of players who've added their support to the campaign, adorning their football boots in various degrees of pink! Share your thoughts online.

Justin Braun (Chivas USA) Nike Tiempo Legend III

A subtle move from Braun, he's retained his white/volt Nike Tiempo footwear, and the fluorescent pink laces make a great match with the fluorescent-like volt colour.

Marc Burch (DC United) Nike T90 Laser III

To match the DC United kit Burch wears the two-tone white/black Nike T90 Laser III soccer shoes. Contrast these with the pink laces, and it's hard not to notice them.

Paolo Cardozo (LA Galaxy) adidas F50 adizero

Although Paolo Cardozo has been spotted more recently wearing the pink adizeros, before receiving his new soccer cleats he was still in his chameleon F50's, which acted as a nice compliment to his pink laces.

Dwayne De Rosario (DC United) Puma v1.11

There's no missing Dwayne's footwear as he sports the all-pink Puma v1.11 boots! Dwayne has been a v1 wearer for a while now, and as you can see has got his own unique way of tying the laces, despite a lace cover!

Teal Bunbury (Sporting Kansas City) adiPower Predator

Kansas City's Teal Bunbury took his Breast Cancer support to new levels with a fully customised pair of miadidas adiPower Predator boots! Featuring a bright blue upper with pink stripes and laces.

Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy) Nike CTR360 Maestri II Elite

It's only right one of the stars of the MLS and USMNT adorned himself in pink to show his support for the cause. So Donovan remained in his Nike CTR's, but made sure he threaded some pink laces.

Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy) adiPower Predator

Following Donovan's example was team-mate Omar Gonzalez, who also threaded pink laces through his new adiPower Predator football boots. Gonzalez has changed footwear, after wearing some custom adiPowers previously.

Fredy Montero (Seattle Sounders) adiPower Predator

The adiPower Predator is certainly a boot that lends itself to unique colourways, after Montero joined an increasing list of players in custom adiPowers. Montero's cleats provided a classy look with the pink accompanying a mainly gold upper.

Santin Quaranta (DC United) Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II

Fans of the Mercurial Vapor Superfly range must be loving this effort from Santin Quaranta, because despite the cherry Superfly's originally coming with pink/cherry laces. Quaranta has gone to the extra effort of re-threading the Soccer Kicks Cancer laces, with great effect.

Kevin Hartman (FC Dallas) miadidas adiPower Predator

FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman was spotted wearing a unique pair of blue/pink miadidas adiPower Predator boots. Hartman is no stranger to customised boots, having previously been spotted in a separate pair of miadidas adiPowers.

Sheanon Williams (Philadelphia Union) Puma v1.11

Without doubt the pink Puma v1.11 soccer cleats are one of the most eye-catching shoes we've ever seen hit the pitch. Contrast them with a white sock and there's no missing Sheanon's footwear!
