Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 17/10/11

A busy weekend schedule of domestic league fixtures produced a great blend of new, old and customised boots serving up plenty of room for discussion! As ever, our boot spotters were on high alert, scouring every corner of the globe to bring you the latest and greatest boot spots! See who has made it in this week and share your thoughts online.

Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid) Nike T90 Laser IV

Is there any player in better form right now? Gonzalo Higuian continued his goal-scoring streak with another hat-trick for Real Madrid at the weekend. The T90 striker bagged his second consecutive Primera Liga hat-trick during Real Madrid's 4-1 home defeat of promoted Real Betis, sending Madrid momentarily top.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan) Nike Mercurial Superfly III

Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his first appearance in the Volt Nike Superfly III football boots as AC Milan secured a much-needed 3-0 home win over Palermo. The Italian giants had an all-volt front three with Robinho and Antonio Cassano also lighting up the San Siro with their electric footwear!

Gerard Pique (Barcelona) Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite

The only disappointment for Barcelona this week was the injury to Gerard Pique. The Spanish defender was spotted wearing the new white/gold Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite football boots as Barcelona cruised to another 3-0 win over Racing Santander. His defensive partner Carles Puyol was however spotted wearing the Legend III.

Yaya Toure (Manchester City) Puma v1.11 Leather

For months, boot fans were screaming at Yaya Toure to find himself a new pair of boots! Finally the former Barca midfielder has teamed up with Puma as the brands latest high-profile player. Toure was spotted wearing a personalised pair of leather Puma v1.11 football boots as Manchester City climbed to the top of the Premier League with a 4-1 win over Aston Villa.

Scott Parker (Tottenham Hotspur) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker has either agreed a boot deal with Nike or simply couldn't resist the perfect boot-to-kit colour match the new white/silver/purple CTR360 boots gave him! The English midfielder had previously been wearing blacked-out leather T90 Laser III boots and despite recently training in the Laser IV, has switched to the kanga-lite CTR360's!

Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United) Pantofola d'Oro Lazzarini

SoccerBible favourite Hatem Ben Arfa made his Premier League return for Newcastle United wearing a pair of Pantofola d'Oro Lazzarini football boots! We're hoping to see a lot more of the French midfielder and his retro boots as Newcastle look to continue their impressive start to the 11/12 season.

Danny Califf (Philadelphia Union) Nike T90 Laser IV

Pink fever continued across the MLS at the weekend with a host of players still showing their support to Breast Cancer Awareness. Danny Califf of the Philadelphia Union was spotted wearing a set of pink laces with his Nike T90 Laser IV football boots! We're loving the boots although we're not sure about the side burns!

Santiago Gentiletti (Brest) adidas adiPURE IV

When you have the majority of players on a pitch wearing brightly coloured boots, it's ironically the black-out boots that stand out the most! Brest's Santiago Gentiletti caught our eye this weekend with a blacked out pair of adidas adiPURE IV football boots. Gentiletti gave his black/white/red adiPURE boots even more of a retro look with some classic black-marker treatment!

Mario Mandzukic (Wolfsburg) Nike Mercurial Vapor IV SL

Nike's latest Mercurial colourway is the boot making headlines at the moment, but the Citron Vapor IV is still out there to be seen! Wolfsburg's Mario Mandzukic was spotted wearing the immensely popular Nike Vapor IV colourway as his side took on FC Nuemberg. Gone are the days of the lace-cover but this boot still looks great in action!

Tomoaki Makino (1.FC Koeln) adidas Predator adiPower

Our boot spotters showed off their impressive attention to detail as Japanese defender Tomoaki Makino turned out for 1.FC Koeln in a pair of UCL edition adidas Predator adiPower football boots which included some unique personalisation. Opting against the standard initials and number, Makino's Pred's made for an interesting spot!

Diego Chara (Portland Timbers) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Portland Timbers dependable playmaker Diego Chara showed his support to Breast Cancer Awareness as he sported a pair of pink laces on his Nike Tiempo Legend IV football boots. Chara couldn't help prevent his side going down 2-0 at home to Houston Dynamo but making it into SoccerBible boot spotting must be some consolation!

Kevin Trapp (Kaiserlautem) Puma PowerCat 1.10

Our first spot of the new Red/Black/Silver Puma PowerCat 1.10 comes from the Bundesliga with Kaiserlautem goalkeeper Kevin Trapp receiving the honours! After a great online reaction, we're still waiting on a strong player uptake to match. Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is expected to return to club action this week wearing the new boots!
