Global Football Boots Spotting - 28/12/11

Global Football Boots Spotting - 28/12/11

As the Christmas hangover continues, let SoccerBible bring you some of the best boot-spots from the holiday football action! There has been no respite for the Premier League as the race for the title hots up. With all clubs in action over recent days, there's been plenty of boot-spotting to get stuck in to. Check out what players and boots have been featured this week!

Fernando Torres (Chelsea) Nike T90 Laser IV

Fernando Torres' continued failure to spark resumed as Chelsea drew 1-1 with Fulham at Stamford Bridge. The Spanish international has become one of the few T90 athletes to sport the new Red/White/Anthracite Kanga-Lite boots. They may be no match for the The Blues home strip but Chelsea fans will be hoping his new footwear can re-ignite any flame left in the former Liverpool man.

Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur) Umbro GT II Pro

Kyle Walker has been one of the stand-out players of 2011. The Spurs full-back has lifted himself to the top of Umbro's playing roster, becoming one of the lead athletes to wear the new Umbro GT II Pro. Tottenham continue their pursuit of both Manchester clubs as we head into an exciting second half of the season.

Gervinho (Arsenal) Nike Mercurial Superfly III

Arsenal couldn't capitalise on their rivals holiday blips as they dropped two points at home to Wolves. Gervinho was on the score sheet for the Gunners wearing his personalised Nike Mercurial Superfly III football boots as the London club drew 1-1 with Wolves. Bespoke with an Ivory Coast flag, Arsenal will lose their speedy African winger to the AFCON in January.

Martin Skrtel (Liverpool) Nike T90 Laser IV

Liverpool may have one of the best defensive records in the Premier League this season, but a lack of fire-power up front is costing them points. At the back, Martin Skrtel was wearing his new Grey/Red/BlackNike T90 Laser IV football boots as his side drew 1-1 at home to bottom of the table Blackburn.

Joey Barton (Queens Park Rangers) adidas Predator adiPower

It hasn't gone unnoticed that Joey Barton is partially blacking out his adidas Predator football boots. The QPR captain may be in contract negotiations while he decides what brand to settle on. The former Newcastle midfielder began the season wearing the adiPower, before making the switch to the Puma PowerCat 1.12. Ditch the marker Joey...they're a perfect match for that away strip!

Carlos Hernandez (Melbourne Victory) adidas Predator SL

One of the surprise boot spots this week came from down under. Melbourne Victory player Carlos Hernandez was spotted sporting the recently released Phantom/SlimePredator SL football boots as his side took on the Melbourne Heart in A-League action. Hernandez couldn t resist the perfect colour combo with the Victory's away strip!

Clint Dempsey (Fulham) Nike Mercurial Superfly III

Clint Dempsey became the Premier League's all time top American goal scorer as he punished a lethargic Chelsea to earn Fulham a deserved point. Clint was in action wearing his new Purple/SilverNike Superfly III football boots, bespoke with a mixed sole-plate. The long term Mercurial wearer continues to set records as the Premier League's headline American.

Jussi Jaaskelainen (Bolton) adidas World Cup

Bolton shot-stopper Jussi Jaaskelainen may be forced to wear a pink goalkeepers jersey, but when it comes to his footwear, the Finnish goalkeeper keeps it old-school! Even the white stripes of the classic adidas World Cup boots was too much for Jussi as he gave his iconic adidas boots some black marker treatment.

Mate Dugandzic (Melbourne Heart) Nike T90 Laser IV

Nike's new drop of colourways for January 2012 have taken the game by storm! The A-League is certainly happy hunting ground for great spots as Mate Dugandzic proved wearing his  Red/White/Anthracite Kanga-Lite Nike T90 Laser IV football boots. The Melbourne Heart's midfielder was in action as his side took on the Melbourne Victory.

Patrice Evra (Manchester United) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

It was never any question whether or not Patrice Evra was going to make the switch into the new White/Red Nike Tiempo football boots. The French international helped Manchester United to a 5-0 romp of Wigan at Old Trafford that saw adiPower wearer Dimitar Berbatov bag a hat-trick. The Premier League champions now sit level with local rivals Manchester City at the top of the EPL.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas Predator adiPower

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard made a second half cameo appearance in Liverpool s 1-1 home draw with Blackburn. After being met with the days loudest applause, Gerrard entered the pitch wearing his personalised Black/Warning adiPower Predator football boots. As a known fan of classic black   white boots, even these are an uncharacteristic boot choice for the Liverpool skipper.
