Hulk Debuts Green Morelia Neo
Hulk debuted his brand new Mizuno Morelia Neo football boots in the Champions League this week, in the colour designed specifically with him in mind! The green Morelia Neo is the latest Mizuno speed boot to hit the market, and are arguably one of the best leather speed boots we've ever seen!
It's no coincidence Mizuno have chosen green as the lead colourway for their new speed boot, launched with Hulk as their leading star. But Hulk is more than just a strong player, he's got speed, skill and where previously he was aided by the Morelia, Mizuno have now taken that leather performance and incorporated it into a lightweight speed boot.
Hulk was debuting his new Mizuno Morelia Neo football boots in the Champions League game against Zenit St Petersburg, which unfortunately Porto drew, meaning they will now be playing in the Europa League after finishing third in their group. But it's not the first time we've seen Hulk wearing the Neo, after our Boot Insider spotted the Brazilian test driving a blacked-out pair in the Champions League game versus Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Mizuno Morelia is one of football's most iconic ranges, and famed for it's outstanding leather uppers, the Morelia has undergone a radical revolution. The Neo brings the boot into the 21st century with Mizuno's lightest ever football boot. Weighing in at a very impressive 170g, which undercuts the Mercurial range by some margin and is just fractionally over the weight of an adizero, Mizuno have managed to completely revolutionise the Morelia range.
To deliver lightweight speed traction, Mizuno have engineered a graded Pebax sole-plate, as it provides enhanced durability and great flexibility that's much lighter in weight than a TPU. Using different densities in the heel and forefoot Mizuno have created a flexible yet rigid, supportive unit.
