Global Football Boots Spotting - 09/01/12

Global Football Boots Spotting - 09/01/12

Aside from the return of Paul Scholes wearing Nike T90 Shoot's(!), there were plenty of boot spots this week from around the globe ranging from as far afield as the Australian A League and Belgian Pro League, to the English FA Cup and Italian Serie A. Here's the SoccerBible's selection of this weeks best bootspotting action. Share your thoughts online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Josh Mitchell (Perth Glory) Nike Air Zoom Total 90 II

Josh Mitchell's injury-time goal earned Perth Glory their first win at Westpac Stadium as they defeated Wellington Phoenix 1-0. Mitchell struck at the death for the Glory wearing his white/blue Nike Air Zoom Total 90 II football boots. The old-school AZT boots were launched way back in 2002, making Mitchell's retro footwear even more impressive considering their great condition!

Paul Scholes (Manchester United) Nike T90 Shoot IV

Scholes has come out of retirement to help steer the remainder of Manchester United's season in the right direction after a few dodgy results. It was a surprise to see the old pass master return to the United side against Man City, and even more of a surprise to see him wearing Total 90 Shoots. A £50 takedown version of the Laser IV's, which to be fair still boast ShotShield technology.

Massimo Paci (Novara Calcio) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Massimo Paci will fancy himself as a boot design when Nike's next Tiempo colourway is released. The Novara defender was spotted wearing a pair of white/green Nike ID Legend IV football boots as his side took on Fiorentina. Nike's first Tiempo colourway for 2012 is expected in April and won't be too far off Massimo's creation!

Darren Bent (Aston Villa) Umbro Speciali Pro III

A lot of transfer speculation around Bent this weekend, but he kept himself quiet and got on with playing, helping Villa to FA Cup victory over Bristol Rovers. The England striker was debuting the new Umbro Speciali Pro 3 football boots, which were only unveiled this weekend.

Yannick Sagbo Latte (Evian-Thonon) adidas f50 adizero

After initially having been left scratching our heads, we think Yannick Sagbo Latte has given his White/Pink/CyanadiZero Prime football boots some interesting customisation. The on loan Monaco striker was spotted wearing the bizarre footwear with orange laces as his side took on Metz in a French Cup fixture.

Cole Skuse (Bristol City) Pantofola d'Oro 1920 Vitello

Bristol City midfielder Cole Skuse has been a long-time fan of Pantofola d'Oro football boots. Skuse treated his classic boots to some FA Cup action at the weekend as his side took on Crawley Town in the third round. All-black football boots are always a noticeable spot amongst a field of bright footwear. Skuse was wearing the Pantofola d'Oro 1920.

Maicon (Inter Milan) Nike T90 Laser IV

Inter Milan's Brazilian defender Maicon gave his first performance wearing the White/RedNike T90 Laser IV football boots as his side took on Parma in Serie A action. Nike's Kanga-Lite T90 has taken a back-seat to the popular Grey/Red/Black release but still looks the business on pitch as Maicon demonstrated with his personalised boots at the San Siro.

Gary Kagelmacher (Beerschot) Joma Aguila

Gary Kagelmacher gave us something to think about with his footwear during Germinal Beerschot's match with Stuttgart. The former Real Madrid man was wearing a pair of Joma Aguila football boots with a difference. The Uruguayan defender has seemingly removed the outside Joma logo in an attempt to defy all boot-spotters! You'll need to try harder than that!

Jonas Gutierrez (Newcastle United) Umbro Geometra Pro

Gutierrez celebrated wearing his new Umbro Geometra Pro football boots (and scoring a goal!), by pulling out his famous Spiderman mask. Gutierrez had a choice of the White/Red or Black/Green Geometra's, both brand new launches, but opted for the Black/Green's which combine nicely with both the Newcastle kit and the pitch.

Bobby Zamora (Fulham) Unreleased Under Armour

Bobby Zamora was giving his unreleased Under Amour football boots another run out during his sides FA Cup third round tie with Charlton Athletic. We're yet to hear any official word from Under Armour surrounding these boots but suggestions are already linking this to the Hydrastrike II.

Angel Rangel (Swansea City) Mizuno Supersonic Wave 2

Up until a few weeks ago Rangel was sporting a pair of Mizuno Morelia's, but now he's decided to give the Supersonic Wave a try. One of Mizuno's more recently developed boot silo's the Supersonic Wave hasn't seen a huge player uptake, but perhaps that's because of the strength of the Morelia, so will be interesting to see if he stays in them.

Julien Ricaud (Niort) Nike Mercurial Talaria IV

Some of the best footballers do it from Lionel Messi to most recently, Paul Scholes. But it's always interesting to see a pair of take-down boots worn by professionals. Niort's French midfielder Julien Ricaud was spotted wearing a pair of Nike Mercurial Talaria IV football boots as his side took on Brest.

Clint Dempsey (Fulham) Nike Mercurial Superfly III

Fulham's American hero Clint Dempsey hit his first ever hat-trick in his sides 4-0 FA Cup win over Charlton. It is believed to be just the third hat trick by an American in English football. Dempsey bagged three wearing his new Nike Superfly III football boots. They might just find their way into Clint's personal collection along with the match ball!

Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid) Nike T90 Laser IV

Just before Christmas Nike rolled out new colourways across all their boot silo's, and with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Wayne Rooney and Alexandre Pato on-board, the T90 Laser IV's a getting great exposure for strikers. Higuain has been in hot form this season, and netted his 13th La Liga goal against Granada, as Real Madrid moved 5 points clear of rivals Barcelona.

Daniel (Wellington Phoenix) Pele Sports 1970

For some reason the A League seems to be a hot-bed for Pele Sports boot spots! This week Wellington Phoenix attacking midfielder Daniel was spotted wearing the white versions of the 1970's. We can understand due to his Brazilian nationality why Daniel would choose Pele Sports, although as a midfielder/winger would the Trinity 3E's be a better choice?

Danny Graham (Swansea City) Umbro GT Pro

It seems Danny Graham might have just discovered the Umbro GT Pro after previously wearing Stealth II's, but perhaps someone needs to make him aware Umbro have already released the second generations! Saying that, similar to the Windchill Mercurials these White/Blue GT Pro's look great on-pitch.
